I have just made this bag. It was a devil to sew. I broke 2 needles and then caught the lining under the presser foot. I like the patchwork front , which in future will incorporate into the usual bags I make to make a change. I have used a waterproof lining, which has no raw edges.

Kudos to you Sarah, it's turned out great. I like the idea too of a waterproof lining. Love Chris

You were very tenacious to stick with this project and see it to its finish! It really is a great bag. I don't recall seeing a bag with a waterproof lining. Doing that was a good idea! Well done!

I like it Sarah and may do something like this myself, for a change. Bomber you had such trouble but the result is nice. Was the fabric thick/denim?

Toogie, it was the pale blue fabric on the front that gave me the trouble. If I do it again I will use all cotton and nothing thicker
