Yesterday was Rip It Out day. Nothing stitched easily at the machine. About the third time, I remembered, that meant it was time to step away from the machine. Clean up, sort, hang, iron or (last choice) go do housework. Today was Losing Everything but My Mind Day. After putting up searches for my favorite ruler, my box of 100 needles (out of place), best screwdriver (it's little) and trims for zippy bag handles, I spent 40 minutes looking to find my box of spiffy black and white fat quarters. Knew it was here somewhere. Then when I happily finished selecting black and white prints, I couldn't find my laptop! I promise! YOU know where it was - under the box of spiffy fabrics. Because I had been leaving the room to carry laptop back downstairs, when I decided to stop and check one more place and found it. My mother had a saying that I despised. "It will be the last place you look." I always wanted to say, yes, why would I keep looking? But that's not what she meant. It was more like, you'll find it when you've searched everywhere else. Mother, remembering you today!

After reading all the comments all I can say is that we must all be about the same age. LOL.

Well, I catch everything there is and if we were close neighbors, I'd say I caught the 'Can't Find What I'm Looking For' from you.
Every time I try to decide on a pattern for the quilt I wanted to make for my husband, 'our 50th' something prevents me. I am beginning to think its not meant for me to do.
I try to help my niece out with the trip gifts and she has another one planned about 2 months after this Florida trip. I told her I need to work on our quilt. She tells me she understands but I know I'll still end up trying to do.
Well, last night I couldn't sleep so I was planning it all out in my head. I had drew a pattern up to applique and now have searched high and low and cannot find it for the life of me. It's several sheets of paper taped together you'd think I could see it.
Mamma always said when you quit looking, it will turn up. Well, I stopped, don't know that I've quit.
And dh went to Lanie's last ball game, as a high school Senior. I could have played with my ideas on the bed........

And I bet while you searched you found all sorts of things you had forgotten about. I guess you needed a day off from stitching and didn't know it. I hope today is a much better day and went the way you hoped.

Thanks for sharing your funny take on a haphazard day.
I thought the same thing about the saying, but knew better than to make that reply to my mother. That's when I'd get in trouble for having a "smart mouth".

I used to be Goodie Two Shoes. Now, I've given up perfectionism.

I had the same kind of day. And it was not even a full moon, which is what I usually blame things on. Hugs. Nan

It makes me feel better to know I am not alone when it comes to losing things. My hubby says you will find it when you are not looking for it. After searching the same place 3-4 times for a bag the other day he came into the room and said have you looked in this cupboard. Yes I said. Then I pulled out a box I hadn't looked in and there was the missing bag. I hope you have a better day today. Hugs

Shirley, do you think your husband would come find what I'm looking for?

shirley124 by shirley124 10 Feb 2018

I would have to ask him, but I know it often helps when he comes to look for me. Hugs

My mom always said there would be days like that. How true. Praying tomorrow will be an improvement.
