What a year Avery has had with her new home, new voice, saying a prayer and now this! Kudos to you and all who made this happen for our special young lady. I'm sorry you couldn't be there but you do need to take care of you and get well. Her picture should be hung in the Madi Gras museum in Mobile, AL
Karen I have anxiously awaited your reaction. I know you and a lot of others support Avery with prayers and comments. (I believe you were the Cutie that named her our Honorary Cutie. If I am mistaken, apology to the Cutie who did, for not recognizing her)
I did not know about the Mardi Gras Museum. I know her mom would be thrilled, if they would accept her photo, I wonder do they display special needs children? You've got me interested.
I wish I could answer your questions. MardiGras was started in Mobile Al which most people do not know. Everyone thinks it was New Orleans. The museum is all about their Mardi Gras history but it would cost nothing but a little time to contact the museum in Mobile and ask. It would be great to open the eyes of the folks to accepting pictures of our Special Folks so go for it.
Beautiful girl. Funny, I have had her in my thoughts and prayers lately, wondering that you haven't told any news of her. Sounds like a wonderful home her family found for her. Hugs. Nan W
Oh Nan, it's such a blessing to the family and especially to Avery. Thank you for remembering her and you can always ask about her. I hate to post too much and maybe bore anyone, but I will always post request when she needs special prayer.
What a beautiful young lady Avery has become, the dress, hair and make-up are perfect. You are right she is growing up fast. Hope you get better quickly and thanks for sharing the photo with us. Marian
I hope I continue to improve. I always feel better right after the injection, but I hope the meds continue to straighten me out. I will miss another trip, otherwise.
Thank you for your thoughts about Avery. Her mom sold make-up while in college and made peoples faces, but I told her not too much, remember her age. Avery likes all the pampering-lol
Absolutely royal. She is doing so well.
such a lovely young lady! Takes after her Grandma, huh! Looks like she has come such a long way in her new home. What a blessing........God is good!
Amen!
The only word you put, that takes after me, is 'lady' -lol
She is doing great! It is so good too to see the happiness about it all in the family too. Ashley makes frequent 2 hour round trips there, plus the time spent there but she doesn't have the everyday struggle to bathe, dress, medicate, etc not to mention the stressful ER visits or ambulance calls. You are so right, it's a blessing and God is so good!
Toogie, Not true! You are lovely in that you have such a caring, sharing spirit and you sound so young at heart. I am soon to be 74 and have come to realize that age is just a number............lol. I know that you are blessed to have Avery, but, she is so blessed to have you for her Grandma. I am so happy that her move has worked out so well for all!
I have been traveling - so, I have only been on Cute periodically. Avery looks so elegant and of course, beautiful! Makes you feel so wonderful that her home does such celebrations - thank you for sharing this with us!!! Hugs, Laura
They will have another big day next week, for Valentines. They told us before she enrolled, they go all out for each holiday and we are seeing the truth in that!
Ashley, doesn't know this yet. My niece that I go on trips with lost her grandson five years ago and they do something every year at Valentines in memory of Blake. They bring gifts to children, like stuffed animals or whatever is needed, to area hospitals, pediatric rehabs, etc. This year they are going to Avery's school. That reminds me, I am donating some to help them out, because I know they want to give to ALL the students. Just got to dig them out-lol-as I keep gifts like this here for unexpected surprises.
Thank you for your comments on our girl.-Toogie
Look at that beautiful doll! Hair, dress, and makeup done, don't you know she felt like a princess. I'm sorry you didn't get to be there, but glad that you got photos and shared them with Avery's Cute Family. Give her a hug from me when you get to go see her next.
Jerilyn, Ashley brought her home the day before, to ready her for today. After washing , drying and rehearsal styling Avery's hair, she put her make-up on. She sent me some photos. Ashley said Avery sure enjoyed it all. I said, what girl doesn't like to be pampered!
I sure will give her that hug!
Oh, Toogie...Avery looks beautiful! That dress and stole are just lovely...she looks like she is flourishing in her new "home"...such a blessing.
Yes, it is! So good not to worry about her. The staff say how she is such a good girl....Of course she is!-lol
Ashley was looking for her a dress and when someone heard about it they offered her this one. All Ashley had to buy were the gloves and wrap. We are so blessed.
Lovely little princess. Too bad you could not be there. Hugs
I know, but I had orders to stay out of the rainy weather. I do hope I get more photos, though.
Oh how wonderful. She looks gorgeous and happy. What a fantastic honor for Avery. I can only guess at how proud you are of her - I am and I only know her through you. Her Mama has got to be beaming! So sorry you were not able to attend. You must be disappointed, but God has a plan for everything. Hope you are feeling better soon.
I hope so too. Got another injection today, another kind of antibiotics, more cough med and I still have my Abuterol, for breathing treatments.
We are proud but she looks too mature!-lol-growing up too fast! Thanks Toogie
Oh Toogie, this is such a special moment to treasure, Avery looks beautiful. What a lovely alteration of her dress, a shame you were not able to attend the day and join the celebrations. Thanks for sharing this with us all.
I only had to take two seams under the arms and taper. That was it, very easy to fit this time. I was worried about all the beading scratching her, but it must have been okay.
Thank you for looking.
She's always been your princess. So glad they recognized this in her.
Oh! Toogie, Avery is beautiful! Congratulations to her, you and Ashley too for 'altering' her gown. You are marvellous! Love Chris
Oh Chris, you give me too much credit, but thank you, we think she is beautiful too, inside and out.
