Hello Cuties,

I know many of you have seen my first valet trays but these are in different colored vinyls, done for the trip in a couple weeks.I think we only have 7 men in 44 people-lol- I used my same fleur de lis design, as the others seemed to like theirs. Don't ask me where it came from, as that was before I knew how to save info, on a design file.
I made these yesterday. Today won't get anything done, as I am running a low grade temp and coughing again. Feel terrible. Hope your day is better than mine-Toogie
ps-how can you get the 'fold' marks out of vinyl? I tried the hair dryer heat and even placed between my mattress last night. You'd think with all my weight it would have flattened out...see the buckskin color has a fold mark under the design?

Beautiful as always!!
I am always scared of melting vinyl... 😜 so I turn my iron up to cotton and iron the iron board an area as big as my vinyl piece. Once the iron board is all heated up, then I lay the vinyl on top and place a towel over it and rub out the creases with my hand or a book. A rolling pin is a good idea though. I am glad you are feeling better! 😘
Hugs!
-Kay

I'm always impressed by the quality of your workmanship.
You can often remove creases from vinyl by placing it in a dryer on low heat. If that doesn't work, vinyl can be ironed to remove creases, as shown in the following link.

Thank you for your lovely compliment. I love to sew. I love turning a flat piece of fabric into an item.
I have tried to iron but maybe I needed to turn up the heat a little. I was afraid of melting and melting to my iron.

Love this Toogie--Great tray and use of the snaps. I didn't see any fold. I even had to read again--I thought these were all leather--beautiful.

They are all vinyl, not leather. They may be worse than this by the time we get where we're going. Thanks for looking.

Gosh, you've been sick too long! Maybe when the sun finally comes out you'll feel better. I have no idea as to how to get creases out of vynal. Creases in anything like the material you are using probably should be considered permanent, and just accept that that is the way it is. No one will even notice. They'll just be thrilled to receive them! We all want what we give to others to be perfect and we strive for that, and we needlessly worry about it. I have that crease problem with fabric that has poly in it, so I really have a hard time too. It's very annoying.

With my new computer, I can save a file with up to 30 characters. So now I just put the name of where I got it in the file name too. That really helps me. Too bad I didn't have this capability 18 years ago. Until now, I used shortened names.

wonderful gift, they look great, You might try a sewing clapper with some steam or heat let them sit them repeat over several times.

some leather before tooling it is soften by putting water on it, I would try a sample first to make use it did not stain.

toogie by toogie 04 Feb 2018

My dad used to make leather things. This in not leather, though. It is all vinyl. Thanks you

jenne by jenne 04 Feb 2018

You could still use a sewing clapper and some heat or steam to help take out the fold line.

Yes, thank you.

I think they look fine Toogie. Get plenty of rest and start feeling better. Remember lots of fluids if you are running a temp. Sending prayers your way.

Gosh Toogie, you are too hard on yourself. As we say down under " a blind man would be happy to see it", I wouldn't even bother about the crease. Once things are put in there the weight of money, bits and pieces of men's things etc. you won't even see it. I never knew about the hairdryer, so that seems a possibility! Hope you are feeling better after a good night's sleep and some lovely heartwarming soup! Love Chris

Thanks Chris I hope so too.
These will be given, creases are not. I just wondered if anyone knew how to get them out.

These are gorgeous!!! All I can think of to get out the fold is heat, a lot of it and for a while. I wonder if sitting in the sun all day would help. Now, keep resting and kick that nasty flu to the curb and beyond. I want you to be healthy and able to enjoy that trip.

If the sun would only shine! It's been rainy and cold all day. I suppose it will be another trip to the doctor as I can't beat anything on my own.....

Hi Toogie you look as if you have been very busy creating these. They look great. Sorry your not feeling well, just be thankful your not at my house as we have been warned there is a overnight car rally outside tonight... Flu is doing the rounds in the UK, not nice.

Flu is here too. I was tested a few weeks ago when I went to the doctor. I'm sure I'll be tested again, if I have to go.

Thank you-No advice about getting the crease marks out? The vinyl was given to me and all folded up.

dragonflyer by dragonflyer 03 Feb 2018

The only way I know is to use a hot hair dryer...and while the vinyl is hot, use a rolling pin to smooth out the creases...it may take a few times depending on how deep the creases are...

toogie by toogie 03 Feb 2018

Now that's a good idea with the rolling pin. If the sun would shine , Karen's idea is a good one too. Thanks
