Great idea! It would be good for traveling.
This is just the most awesome thing I've seen in a bit!
Well I'm glad I showed you!
I made two of those to go with my daughters' wedding dresses (1995 and 2000 resp.) from the leftover fabric bits and an embroidery matching the ones on the dress. Very posh. It had a zipper not at the bottom, but higher up, so nothing could fell out when you opened it when still on the hanger. Perfect for gloves or jewellery. However, neither of them used it for the wedding dress as that was stored in one of those huge clothes bags. The best made plans...
I know what you mean by the best made plans, but I'll bet the hangers and the gowns were awesome! I thought of doing some covers with fancy stitching, etc but I wondered how much my efforts would be appreciated.
I love your sunflower fabric.
I do too and may keep one of these for myself.
I had heard of it long ago so its not 'my' idea but you are correct, it is a smart idea.
Yes it is, even though not my original idea.
It is a wonderful idea. You come up with the most practical ideas! Love the fabric.
Well, I can't take credit for the original idea, but I do think it would be good for anyone at home, too.
Great idea. Where did this pattern come from? Would make a good Christmas gift. Hugs. Nan W
Nan, I'll show you how I did mine later, but go to aspoonfulofsugar.com for the coat hanger cover, basic idea. I added a pocket for the valuables as they didn't have one. I can take some photos for you, if that would help. Just let me know as I am making more today.
I sent you a pm
Toogie, this will make a lovely gift for one of your fellow travellers . Well done, nice material.
Thank you Sandra, I thought so too. Not just for traveling a good idea at home. I thought it was a good idea too, and I need to get into fabrics I have stored. I am making a black print this morning, as I can't sew dark colors at night. I'm not sure I will like it, but it was just enough to make this. I have two of the sunflower fabric done already.
Well, I love it! Love Chris
These are a good idea! Well done.
You are one smart cookie. This tops them all.
ha-ha-Not me, but I can usually figure something out. So this would have made you a nice gift in Ala?-lol-I am still drooling....
love it u r so creative I made some of these similar I sewed a bead on each side at the top seam to help hold a sun dress on the hanger (make a cover hang dress on top )
