Polyester canvas shopping bags.

Free plastic bags are supposed to be phased out this year ,so I hope these will sell.
Second photo is the same bag as in the first bag but has a large press stud sewn on the sides to make the bag smaller when empty.

Great idea and wonderful, practical bags! Probably you can sell a lot of them. I am happy that, maybe, this huge amount of plastic may be reduced. Would be a good idea to sew "(Coffee)-To-Go-Cups" as well. It's frightening to see these plastic islands out in the oceans and it is really time to stop it. Make more beautiful bags please ..... and have a good week! Maria

Lovely bags. I love bags. The UK slowly phased free bags out so since 2011 my bit of the UK stopped. I love making bags and they are always very popular at Craft Fairs or offering one for a raffle prize. I have embroidered funny comments on bags.

These look brilliant. I have seen these fabrics in one of my local sewing shops but didn't even think about making then into bags. They will be great especially for heavy shopping

We started with a dozen bags which are kept in the car, but husband left one in a shop ,10 mins later it was gone.Another disappeared.

Oh, I love all the pretty fabrics you used and I am sure your buyers will too. Did you make up the pattern or is it one you purchased? By large press studs do you mean snaps? I once saw a pattern that was a huge bag and it had some straps sewn in each side that snapped in the inside center, bringing in the sides to make it look like this. I really like the simplicity of the pattern, however the fabrics make it look anything but simple. Very nice work.

Thank you.I found some cheap remanents , 1/2 or 1 metre pieces 150cms wide .This fabric is usually over $20 per metre.Yes metal snaps that you sew on by hand ,about 1/2 inch wide.
Copied the measurements from a free recycleable bag we got years ago by sending in coupons from certain products. The size varies to suit the size of the remanent.
