A comment that I have made before and will probably make again. Yesterday while shopping I met someone who has a 15 needle machine and we had a short chat about our embroidery machines. (My older daughter was with me and now realises I'm not the only person who can talk machine embroidery...) Anyway the woman I was chatting to said that her machine needs a replacement part which she had ordered from China. Unfortunately the company has reorganised and is unable to send the part. Originally she had bought the machine on line. I know that it wasn't easy when I took my machine away to the dealer but it was a far, far, cheaper option than having it serviced at home. The plus point of buying directly from a dealer has always been the after service. The person yesterday knows she has a uphill task of getting her machine back up and running.

I travel to Sydney to get to my technician (one of the best in the state I believe) which is a 5 hour drive one way so I stay overnight, but I think it's worth it. I could also courier it up there but it would add at least another $300 to the cost. I try to organise things so that I take it up when I need to travel to Sydney anyway hmmm, a quilt show or shopping? I do not have a local dealer. The nearest is 2.5 hours away but not very impressed with their customer service.

Mine is 8 miles away. They do good service so it's worth the drive. I don't drive anymore so will have to have someone take it in. They have it done within a week

I envy those who have a good tech locally. The only one near me has his business for sale while at the same time announcing that he is relocating. We have been told not to ask where as it is a secret. I have been a good customer over the years and I am sure a lot of others as well. Without our business he would not have a business to sell or relocate. It make me very angry. The next closest dealer does not support Janome anymore so that leaves me with a 7-8 hour round trip to the only other dealer in our state. Thanks for letting me vent. Hugs

That's pretty poor service Shirley. Have you checked every avenue available? There's got to be someone closer than 3 1/2 - 4 hours away and then having to return again to your home. What about getting on FACEBOOK and asking if anyone knows any machine technicians closer to you. Love Chris

Yes Chris there are other "home" tech's but these are not authorized dealers. I would rather send my machines to Melbourne. Maybe a good excuse for a holiday lol. Hugs

Shirley sorry to hear your problems and Chris I have to travel for 3 hours each way to get to a authorised Brother dealer.

My heart goes out to this woman. But wasn't it fun to talk embroidery! I agree, please give me a good tech within driving distance.

Embroidery chat is always fun but she isn't sure how to get her machine working again

I don't have a local dealer. There is no local dealer so I travel about 3 hours each way. I'm totally happy to do this as the service is excellent
