Just difficult for me to comprehend all that snow. Like Chris I live in the Southern Hemisphere and at the moment the weather is very hot.
Keep warm and keep sewing
Wow! Carolyn, after our trip to Europe I know what you go through. We loved the snow, but the amount you get is just incredible. I'm so glad that you can get out in it though and get some Vitamin D.
We were chatting to some people on one of our journeys who were from Finland and they said there is a valley somewhere in Norway and Italy that never gets sun into the valley for about 6 months and so they have introduced a giant mirror that captures the sunlight and beams it down into the valley. I'll put up a piece about it - ingenious!
Keep warm, whilst I am sweltering away in this disgusting humidity, the sweat just drips off me. We've got our 3 grandsons staying the night and it's so yucky and to top things off one of our air cons has died! I'll be onto a repair man as soon as Monday comes around! Love Chris
Piece from the internet about it - "The villages of Rjukan, Norway, and Viganella, Italy, are both situated in deep valleys where mountains block the sun's rays for up to six months every year. To illuminate those darker winter months, the two towns have built gigantic mirrors that track the sun and reflect daylight downwards. Viganella completed its huge computer-controlled mirror in 2006, and Rjukan followed suit just this month, mounting a mirror that will reflect a 600 square meter (6,500 square foot) beam of sunshine into the town square below."
I saw that in a documentary Chris, it was truly amazing how they worked out the placement.
oh yes I did enjoy the walk with you. Thank you for inviting us !!
Thank you so very much for taking us on your walk with you. it is beautiful where you live! Does this mean I don't need to take my walk today?
Beautiful scenery for a walk! Glad you are dressed warm. Mother nature paints a beautiful canvas...
What wonderful pictures Carolyn.... I'm sure you love walking in the forest cause I'm sure those tall trees help block some of the wind, witch would make it alittle bit warmer... lol Love the pic's... picture 8 looks like an animal hugging the tree stump. :) Thanks for sharing...Love the hat and scarf, hope it's keeping you warm on your walks, be careful out there and enjoy your walks. :)
Wow , and we moan about a slight snow fall , lovely photos . and a Hoppy new year to you xx
Hugs Pam
Thanks for this morning walk. No need now anymore to go jogging :-)
Gorgeous photos, I just wish we could have just a little of that cold weather!
Thanks for the lovely photos I enjoyed my walk with you. At present we have 34 degrees. ( North Australia )
Ah that was such a lovely brisk, refreshing, walk. I'll come with you anytime, I thoroughly enjoyed it.... now where are those tissues, my nose is running. :-)
Beautiful pictures. You are very brave to walk in weather that cold. Happy New Tear to you and John. Stay in and stay warm. Hugs Lynn
Beautiful photos, but you may keep all the snow. When Atlanta area gets snow, it shuts the city down. No snow plows in my county. I remember growing up in East Tennessee as the first flakes started to fall, they called High school off and loaded the buses up with students as some lived 20 miles or more from school in hopes of getting them home. I lived in town and it was no problem getting home. Snow meant "Yea! no school! Kay

WOW - Cold! And I am complaining about our 51 degree overcast weather. Maybe I should just put on another layer and appreciate it. Great pictures, Carolyn. Enjoyed our walk into the bush with you.
Bonjour du sud ouest de la France.
Aujourd'hui nous avions 16° avec un très beau soleil, nous avons aussi profité de cette journée en nous promenons dans la campagne .
Bonne fin d'année
Gisèle
Cold but gorgeous scenery.......you may be warmer than us right now... we have windchills up to 35 below....YIKES!! Thanks for sharing your walk with us!
What a wonderful walk Carolyn. Beautiful setting. I think I'm noticing a plowed path so we don't need skis or snowshoes? How long does it take?
over an hour if u go fast but mostly 75 minutes The path u see is where the skidoos ,4 wheelers drive, side by sides, go and make me a nice patch for walking!!!!
Lovely to have taken a walk with you Carolyn,
Lotsa Love
Nicky
Thank you for sharing your part of the world with us. I loved every minute of our walk. It's a true winter wonderland. I'll go again any time you would like. hugs
Lovely walk Carolyn. Hard to imagine how cold it must be while I sit here with the air conditioning set at 24 Celsius (not sure what it is outside). Of course it is our summer here. Love the piccy's. Hugs Marg
Enjoyed our little walk together Carolyn. Beautiful pictures. I stayed nice and warm in my recliner/Lillian

What a beautiful walk! I suppose after your walk you went inside and baked something or made something for someone. Just kidding, thanks for the tour! Warm bear hugs, Suzanna
Carolyn, thanks for todays walk, lovely to see some of your world again. I love to see the changes in the seasons, now you have had your exercise stay warm inside, no bears around, did Mr Peeko go with you today?
nope only around the block **it is too cold on his wee paws and sometimes i carry him***
I cannot imagine how cold I would be there. I KNOW I would be frozen, especially not being brought up there. I still can't imagine anyone getting use to, or adapting to, these temps. Beautiful to look at though.....I see your cap, what kind of gloves keep your hands warm? Also, what about the feet?
I have thin mitts from the dollar tree inside heavy leather mitts made by hand by the natives****My boots are good for -40 f but i added another set of insoles under that****In the bush u warm up and i can only ware the thin mitts and sometimes i take off my hat to cool me down lol
Great pictures Carolyn. Its postings like this that are so interesting and let us all see about what life is like in different parts of the world. I cant imagine what the temperatures you mention are like. Thanks for sharing
your welcome *****when it is windy we only go around the block for Mr/ Peeko to water the trees lol
Lovely walk but too cold for me. Nice pictures though. Hugs
Thanks for the walk. I didn't even get cold haha You have more snow than we do
