I just bought a Babylock Destiny2 yesterday. I bought a BlJourney 1 1/2 years ago. It was fine for a while, but then started pulling the bobbin thread up, or the top thread down, and thread nests galore. I took it to the shop 6 times since May, replaced the bobbin case two times, and spent hours at the shop with the gal there and stitched designs out on my machine so she could help me figure it out. We never could. If I hear the phrase "owner error" one more time in my life from the shop, I'll go beserk.

Anyhow, I couldn't use a machine that didn't work, so I just traded it in for a new one. I tried it out and it works perfectly. While my solution is not the one I preferred, I'm happy with it.

The moral of this story is that just because the shop can't fix a problem, that doesn't mean that the problem doesn't exist.

I talked to the gal at the shop who has been so helpful and teaches the classes. She said that the classes are too basic for me as I've did...or tried to do...more sophisticated things. So, when I need help to just come in and she'd help me. Her name is "Angel" and she really is an angel!

I had a sewing machine like that and everyone blamed me. Sold it to a lady who reckoned it worked well, when I said it was a lemon. She was back in a few months to tell me that the foot had died and asked why I didn't tell her that it had happened previously. The store that replaced the foot, told her the foot was dead blamed me for the fault!! Seems it was the foot all along as the machine worked well once the original foot was replaced. The store appeared to blame me as they said it wasn't the original foot. It was. Came in a factory sealed box.
I bought a different brand to replace it. As another fault the machine had, I found out by doing a craft show class, was something all that brand did. Which was another thing the store I bought the machine from blamed me for.
Good luck with your new machine and may all your sewing be much happier.

Enjoy your new machine...my girlfriend has the Destiny 2 as well and it stitches like a dream! So sorry you had so much problem with the Journey...your dealer should have sent it back to BabyLock to have them look at it at the very least! Sounds like you got a lemon...we have lemon laws here in California to help protect from poor quality items. Anyway, hope you got a really good deal on the Destiny 2...I know you will love it!

They did talk to Babylock and were told that they tried to make a bobbin case that worked with both sewing and embroidery...and the problems I have are a result. BL told us that they are advising people to just use the sewing bobbin. I tried that. Didn't work. So, I wasn't expecting BL to give us more support. The dealer was trying to fix it and I was tired of the hassle. I noticed the next time I went to the shop the Journey demo machine was removed...

Congratulations on the new machine! There is nothing like having a machine that actually works. I feel your pain with "owner error" and not believing there is a problem. Seems as though if they can't figure out what is wrong, there is nothing wrong. Have fun getting to know your new machine!

Congrats on your new Baby. If you ever have issues like this again, don't be afraid to call the company to explain the problem. Very often they will work with the dealer to resolve the problem. But I think you got a super machine and will be very pleased. Now go have many happy hours stitching.

I am very glad you have a machine that works properly now! Too bad you couldn't get the shop to admit machine error.
Enjoy your new machine!
