A big thankyou to Meg who came to my aid for some wording for our Priest's quilt.

I wrote to Kim and just got an answer this morning (time differences!!!) and she would have done it too. Martine also offered to help me but I wrote back to let her know that Meg was able to do it.

I'm off to Amy's today to help her get the house all neat and tidy for their visitor from England. Steve has had to drive down to Sydney this morning (2 hours plus at this time of the day) to collect his cousin Rachel. She is visiting Australia for the first time and on her own.

Here is the quilt that I've put together. Narelle, one of our parishioners, put all the fabric pieces together, then I quilted the 3 layers and put the binding on and now the quilt label. I can't wait to see Lu's (our Priest) face on Sunday morning. We have our new Priest starting next Wednesday and as I won't be here for the next 4 Sundays as we are overseas, I won't get to meet Greg new Priest). Love Chris
1. Quilt laid out on floor
2. The wording digitised by Meg - thanks, sewed out like a dream.

How wonderful! I always admire quilts - sewn and embroidered so exactly. One day it may come true that I try one myself but so far I am still too busy with "sew repair work" for the family members but often take the liberty embroidering and sewing smaller projects.
This will be a wonderful memory for your priest and he will be wrapped in the love of his community. Wishing you a good day tomorrow when you all meet in church to give him the quilt.

Thanks Maria, but he is a SHE! She was absolutely thrilled with it as she is a cold frog and really feels the cool weather. We of course are in Summer time downunder! Any she loved it. Love Chris

Hmmmm? Not as good as it would have been if it was better.

But the quilt is fabulous!!!

What do you mean, it's perfect. It's much better in the flesh so to speak and the lettering looks fabulous. We had to use the red and the blue for the Knights colours!!!!!! Love Chris

It's just something my ex always said to be funny. It too sounds better in the flesh. :-)

Looks fab, Chris. I am sure Lu will love it. I liked the wording and Meg did a good job on it.
Removing the old tiles was a dusty business, I can write my name on every horizontal object :) - new plaster today, new tiles and necessary plumbing tomorrow and grouting on Monday.
