This year I made 8 lap quilts for the NJ chapter of Operation S.T.A.T, which is Standing Tall for American Troops.

They were collecting lap quilts to give out to Veteran's homes. They ended up with over 400. Also they fill and give out stockings.
My late husband was in the Army, and my best friend's husband is a Vietnam Vet, so we created together. I got to quilt them on her long arm quilter, so that part went quicker than if I was quilting on my sewing machine. Was fun! We only started in Oct, but plan to start some throughout the year to be ready for next Christmas season.

My husband is an Army veteran and other vets in the family, not around your chapter but I thank you for doing for ANY of the veterans. They all deserve it and so much more.
Wish I could have been there with you to play with this set-up. I'd love one!
