Thank you everyone for your comments some made me laugh. I only reminded you because when I went to on of the embroidery links someone had suggested, a virus tried to come in with it and another one did but he was short lived and I was over due to back up so that is my next job. I looked at an external hard drive today at the shops and thought of everyone here on the cute site. I thought this must be what some of you are all using and thought that was a great idea, but I couldn't get it today, maybe later. Anyway thank you all for the flowers, I appreciate them very much.
Very routine around here. Too much to lose by not doing it Thanks *4U sanjoy
My computer backs up every three hours onto a 500g external drive. I have been bitten once not about to be bitten again
thanks for the reminder. But I can't do anything right now as I can only access the internet.Having problems will do so when I get fixed.*4u
Right, sanjoy!!! When I'm downloading something from Cute or Sick, I make a copy right away on my DVD-RW. And I'm awfully careful about any other sites, unless they're well known like OPW Mall, OESD, Janome. I guess anybody's site can be hijacked if it's not listed as "hacker safe" like OPW Mall. Sometimes it's not the site owners that are sending viruses, etc., just some "snowball-for-brains" that hijacked the site. Wish these idiots would leave us in peace to embroider. Flowers for all, Marji
Thanks for the reminder sandra, it's something we should all remember to do on a regular basis. I've just bought some 8gig flash drives so I can't complain about not having enough space on them, can I! Love, hugs and flowers for all my beautiful friends.
Yes, ladies, pls do. I also speak from experience and thank you Sanjoy51 for the reminder. My last back up was July 1 at latest. Blessings and *4U ><>
Thanks Sandra .I will do mine before I move So a job for this weekend
I know we have talked about this before, but if once a month one burns all their designs to a CD and sets up all new folders to start all over again. What happens to fonts that half are on one CD and half on another. Then you have a stack of Cd's and don't know where to find a design!!! I try to print all designs out and file under categories in large notebooks. I then flip through notebooks. Yet I still have trouble finding designs on Cd's. Anyone have suggestions????
Katy, I use re-writable Cd's and DVD's, then I can just add the designs to existing files as I go. The RW's work just like a floppy, so you can edit them any time you wish. If you need more explanation, let me know, preferably by e-mail, cause I don't always go back to quesions I have read. Lotsa flowers for everyone, Marji
Thanks for the reminder I fear nothing except losing all my designs!!!!
Thanks Sandra, I'm about a week past due and will stop right now and do it!;)
I have an 8 gig thumb drive I have everything backed up on... also on two computers and the network drive at work. Think I'm a little paranoid? lol
I only have a hand-me-down lap top that my sweetie spilled orange juice on and another hand-me-down lap top that I spilled a little wine on. What is a 8 gig thumb drive?
