Hello Cuties, I wanted to share this purse with you, I just finished this morning. It was a free sewing pattern and I have had it a couple years. My first time to use this press lock closure, which the original pattern called for something else. I modified, as usual to fit my preferences, by widening the strap, adding an adjustable strap slide. I also put an outside zipper pocket on the back, which the pattern didn't call for. I lengthen the main body pieces, pocket and the flap about 2 inches taller, as it seemed as if it would sew up too small for me.

I also tried some automotive headliner for main body, pocket and flaps, instead of the fusible fleece. I did have to baste it in around the outer edges, which was a little more trouble, but I had it and wanted to try it. I will let you know how that holds up.
The pattern is on noodlehead.com and it's called Caraki Gather Crossbody Bag. Here is what it states though:

Can I sell items made using your tutorials/patterns/book?

Yes, you can sell finished items using my tutorials/patterns/and book projects (all except the projects I designed for Robert Kaufman fabrics – cargo duffle, trail tote, manicure wallet, gatherer crossbody bag, tiny treasures basket/tray). Giving design credit to me or referring to my website would be great (thank you!), but is not required.

Hope you like my version.Have a great day Cuties!-Toogie

Oh, I have that beautiful black and white fabric. It was a gift from a sweet friend! I love your bag. You are really a pro at this. Want to give lessons?

I'm sure you don't need lessons, especially from me. I wanted to give this as a SS gift but as Sue emphasized 'small' I didn't want to get fussed at-lol

Go ahead and make one! You have the pattern link and doesn't the fabric look familiar? At least, I think you were the one got this piece!-lol

Love it, Toogie! It's the type of bag I like: many pockets, dark fabric outside and light-coloured fabric inside, so that it's easier to find what you are looking for. Well done!
Hugs, Lidia

I had just a small piece of the light contrasting fabric to make my piping and lining. I almost didn't buy it but I'm glad now I did. Thanks

I always say, 'gotta have those pockets!'-lol-you would think a small purse you wouldn't need any but I like to reach in and FIND what I want without scratching around....organization... in my purse anyway, lol

Wonderful bag. Love how you "make the pattern" your own. I am glad to see that I am not the only one who does not follow patterns exactly!

Are we all alike?-lol-I read through the directions before I start and make mental notes. Then I cut out extra pockets or tape a 2 inch width of paper to each top piece for taller bag, etc. Maybe some don't like the crossbody bags, but they suit my needs. I haven't left my purse anywhere lately.

Michelle, it is Waverly Fabric I got for $2 yard. I have made a 2 journal covers, this bag, gave some away, and still have a piece left of the black. There wasn't much of the contrast white. Whenever I catch it on sale or reduced, I get some. I may not know what I will make, when I get it, but I'll make something. Thanks-Toogie

Thank you and you're welcome. I spent more time trying to decide on a pattern, than the actual time to cut it out and sew. I know these crossbody bags make look more for the young ones, but I have to strap it on me or I'll walk off and leave it.....Besides, I'm young at heart!-lol
