Having been through this in June and being terrified of losing our home, I do know what you are going through. Stay safe. Thank goodness your son has not been called. All fire fighters are heroes in my book.
So glad you and your family are okay. My heart aches for all the tragedies of late. Prayers the fires are under control soon. Hugs, Barba
Hurrah for small snippets of good news! As you said, so many others are not so lucky. Prayers for all the victims of fires, floods, quakes, storms, shooters and all the other calamities that have befallen this world.
I'm so glad you checked in. My heart goes out to all who have lost their homes and to all who are still in danger from both flames and the awful air quality. Please continue to be safe and be careful. The smokey air is dangerous too. Enjoy your newest baby and I'm glad your som is able to spend quality time with his family.
So happy you and your son is safe - I had been wondering if he was in harms way. Hugs to you and yours!!!
So glad your son is safe. The scope of the recent fires is so hard for people to understand. 3,500 homes .. we had 800 residential properties and buildings according to DTS (475 homes per Calfire) for clean-up - after the Butte fire and it took from the fire in Sept until the following May until the last home's property was cleared for the hazardous waste clean-up that has to happen before anyone can work on the site (all homes have batteries etc, they also have to rush to get as much done before the rains for groundwater concerns from that waste). It's going to be a very very long recovery there.
I'll add, that many of the fires are still at 1 to 3% containment - which is nothing.
Thanks for letting all of us know, Sewmom...so very happy to hear you are all save and not in the path of the fire...double glad your son is home with his family and is not involved in the fight. Praying for all...my nephew lives in Santa Rosa, and fortunately, his home was spared and he and his family are safe...
I am so glad you checked in to tell us your situation and that you and your family are safe. I had been wondering about your son. I told my husband yesterday, about you having a son who is a firefighter, like our son. It is so scary knowing they could get trapped, trying to help others.
I hope you are enjoying holding and rocking that new bundle you have been blessed with. Don't you just love your new position/title !
I'm so happy to hear that your son and you are safe. This is a true tragedy and I can't imagine your air quality. We had several small fires around us and it was very hard to go outside, even just to get into the car was disturbing. California is in my prayers.
I have been wondering about your son. I am glad he is able to enjoy the new baby. That is a double blessing on you not having to worry about him. I know what you are talking about as far as the air quality goes. Taking the dog for a walk this morning made my eyes burn. Like you I am not complaining. I am not in danger, but my heart bleeds for others. 3500 houses burned down so far and 21 dead. 2017 is not a kind year. Stay safe.
