Love the cuddling bear on your man's box. Good job. Have never tried sewing with vinyl, am such a coward.
the sewing was easy it was when i put back on and there was 4 layers Then my old singer girl didn't like it lol
This man's box you'd done looks lovely& brave of you to try it on vinyl too. Wondered what size needle you'd tried& what weight stabilizer too? Thanks for sharing it. :~D
This is what I did.I used a 14 needle and mine did well BUT lengthen your stitch length so it won't take tiny stitches and bog down.It also helps to use your walking foot as I don't know how it would 'feed' with a regular foot. I only embroidered the top layer hooping just the tear away, then after embroidery put together with the straight stitches. Directions are in my post in Community/Sewing.
It looks pretty fabulous to me! Thanks for the heads up with the problems you encountered. What kind of stabilizer did you use? Or how did you hoop it?
I am just saying what I did. I hooped tear away. Then I laid my top vinyl on top of stabilizer by floating it, but you have to hold it in place, so it won't move. I used a secpnd layer on the back which I sewed on with regular machine. I put directions in Community/Sewing.
yep i did the same but old singer didn't like it sew i tried fancy stitches lol will try today i hope on another machine hugs
I also did a man box but I used cotton fabric and batting and backing I still think it looks better with vinyl
You are brave to even try to sew on heavy vinyl! The design looks great!
Great job got a first try Carolyn. Love the little hugging possums. ❤️ Chris
Not bad as you say for first try, not bad at all.
Did you remember to lengthen your stitch? I set mine on 3.5 or 4 length, otherwise it may sit and eat it up. While I think I stitch mine closer to the outer edge, there is no wrong or right way, just so edges and stitches are even. Good job-Toogie
Also, try using a walking foot. It feeds the bottom and the top the same.
