Just a funny to share--I always bring my hoops and fabric and stabilizer, etc. to my living room to hoop. I sit in the floor and do my marking, etc. (I'm at that age where I need to stay limber and this helps) Well, today I was "floating" a rich plush blanket on the stabilizer and was using lots of pins. Got ready to gather it up, and realized I had pinned it to my carpet! That was a first for me.

I used to cut out also on the floor but now with lower back trouble it is too sore. I do all my hooping, stabilizing marking etc on my ironing board.

I've done that before too!!! Trev can't understand how I can sit on the ground/floor with my legs wide apart leaning over my fabric etc. he can't even sit down and cross his legs. It pays to keep nimble. ❤️ Chris

It's funny--my mom always tells me that I need to stop getting up and down from the floor, that it's gonna hurt me. I tell her that it keeps me from being hurt. And when I make my usual number of mistakes, that's a lot of upping and downing! My cardio!

I'm impressed that you get down and up --apparently with ease!! Someone would have to pull me back up!!

I get up like a toddler--have to push off with my hands.

Reminds me of "I Love Lucy" episode when she laid out her dress pattern and actually cut out the carpet. Thanks for sharing your funny!

I haven't thought of that episode in years!

I have heard of sewing patterns being accidentally pinned to carpets. I did handsew sewing to my trouser leg years ago. I too take my frame out of my room and work on the floor. Keep up the good work and avoid the mishaps if possible

I haven't pinned a pattern to the carpet yet, but it will probably happen at some point.

Some things I'm just gonna keep to myself, but this one struck me funny.

It is so nice to know I am not the only one doing silly things like that!

I've hand-sewed things to the arm of the chair before too.

Can't tell you how many times I've done that pinning my quilt sandwich together. I've become rather comfortable hooping on my ironing board, though.

There's just no telling how many goofy things I do in a week.

jrob by jrob 24 Sep 2017

No telling for me either and my darling husband is kind enough (most of the time) not to tell me those I don't notice.

I call my ironing board my office table

You see. We are all different. Me. once I am on the floor I have a heck of a time to get back up. Good for you to try to stay limber. Now all you need to know not to try to get your carpet to your machine. How funny.

Well, you didn't have to worry about the fabric moving. hehe I find it so interesting to see how human we all happen to be and enjoy our funny stories.
