I just need to vent--I visited an embroidery site that I haven't gone to in months and months. Honestly, I was having a pity party for myself and I thought I would look at designs and perhaps buy one and cheer up. Well, the sets are $49!!! Who can buy that? Even the singles were $9. So me and my tiny little bank account are going to not shop there, for sure.

Many times you are attracted by one or two designs and don't need the whole set. The digitisers should offer single designs as well as sets, as many website already do, so you won't feel too bad if you for some reason don't use the designs you buy.
Hugs, Lidia

They did have singles, but they were $9 I didn't go through all the designs to see all the prices, but they all seemed very high.

Hugs to you and hope you manage to get over your sticker shock. I'm in the same group with you. I'm grateful I have been collecting designs for years now and can survive on what I have. Kudos to our favorite digitizers and how I wish I had their talent.

I got over my shock--just closed that window and didn't look back.

It can be very expensive. And then what if you don't like all the designs in the set? You end up paying for designs that you will never use! Can't afford to do that at those prices!. I know that digitizers spend a lot of time developing their designs, but who can afford those prices? Like you, I am grateful for those who are willing to be more reasonable or gift their designs.

I just can't justify spending that much money on a design or set of designs.

I just went over to UrbanThreads and just about had a hissyfit, they charge almost 49.00$ for their sets, what is wrong with them.

Opportunists. Must go and look to see which set of designs is such an exorbitant price

asterixsew by asterixsew 22 Sep 2017

Look closely and you will see some over 100$ and one of the sets was on sale at 107$ instead of almost 150$. I am laughing but I think its hysterical laughter. I am DEFINATELY not buying at such prices I wonder just who will buy at such prices. Oh dear I think I need to go and lie down in a dark room and recover

I never cared for their designs in the past and I certainly will not be spending that kind of money there in the future.

I never have looked at their sets, unless there's a super sale going on. I had no idea they were that expensive. No way for me.

I understand completely. I am glad I was able to purchase a lot designs in the past couple of years. Even in this field things have changed.
I am extremely grateful to digitizers who gift there designs. I try to buy when I can.

I try to buy from designers mentioned here on Cute, but I still venture out and look around. After seeing the prices, I think I'm happier staying closer to "home" for my designs!

Well one is paying for exclusivity. If you had purchased you would probably be suffering from shock and be unable to sew. Cheer up and have a cyber hug and hope the next site you visit sells cheaper designs. PS A Cute membership costs less than that for 6 months

Well said, Caroline!

True. My husband would also be shocked. We are both conservative, which makes for a happy existence.
