I put a little batting in them. I use whatever I have on hand and either poly or cotton work well. I used to just put a stabilizer in them, but I did not like the feel.
The problem I have with no batting is that not all those little kleenex packages are the same size. Some are longer and some are fatter so they don't fit nicely inside. Adding a little batting helps mitigate fit issues that can occur. If I have a holder that doesn't fit snugly in the holder, I stitch a bead at the end of each side catching the fabric to make the opening a little smaller and it hold the package more firmly.
I just used some nice fabrics and no batting....even though I have plenty from quilting!
I use batting - sometimes pellon 998 but usually some hi-loft poly because mine are quilted and I like the "quilty" look.
I use sew in stabiliser if the fabric is quite thin, otherwise nothing. Not had any issues as I use the fabric double so that is usually enough
Thank you. My fabric is double too and I made 8 (I recounted-lol) without anything. I think they are fine,as is.
I use a light weight batting to give them some definition. A heavier stabilizer will give them some weight but then they are too stiff to suit me.
Good luck!
Thanks, I just made one and I didn't use anything-gonna turn it and see if I like it. It seems like the tissue should be 'padding' enough-lol
I agree with you Toogie, once the tissue packet is inside it gives enough padding! Love Chris
I got 6 made and although they are easy and quick, I'm on to something else. I need different things anyway.
