Where do you purchase the caps from? I have been asked to stitch caps and turned down because of the labor involved. This is a labor of love. I love the simplicity of your design. Kay
Jiffy.com.........On the Bernina it was a pain, the Melco is much easier to hoop caps.....
That's a fabulous stitchout and he'll be very pleased with all of them! I agree. You probably should do a few extra if you have extra hats. Extra kids may show up at the last minute, or a hat gets ruined, or maybe a handicapped kid may show up to watch and would need a cap too. Give your hands a rest between days that you work on them. It just makes one feel good to be a part of something like this.
I am more own worst enemy.....when I know I have stitching to do, I will keep going til I drop....am on the verge now...LOL.. I got 35 of the orange done this morning...only 35 left to go........I will tell you this, I won't be knitting for a few days, my fingers and thumbs are so sore from hooping and mounting the hoop on the hat frame.........ugh!!
My goodness Vicki, that will keep you busy. I have to ask - how long does each one take to do?
It only takes about 3 minutes to stitch, but about two times that to hoop it correctly......ugh!! My hands are so sore today from doing these yesterday, I got 70 done, so 1/2 way there.......
Great job on the initials Vicki and I hope all goes well for the workshop. Love Chris
What a great cause...good for you...and your cap hoop is getting a real workout too!
Congrats to you for the work. It is always a good thing when the pro players give back to their communities.
What a great commission for you and kudos to the NBA player for working with kids. Love the logo/initials... very nice.
143 seems an odd amount. I think you should be prepared for more to arrive.
Great job on the Hat.
Love it when high profile sports players give their time to kids. Good on him.
Wow! I'm so impressed with you and your willingness to do all of these hats. I can see a whole lot of happy kids in the future thanks to you and your mystery guy.
