My first embroidery machine was the Pfaff 7570. The designs I used were Creative Fantasy and were on purchased cards that fit into a slot at the side of the machine. Well, I traded that machine in for the 2140 (which I still have, although it's been updated to be the same as the 2170 - and I did keep my cards) and then purchased the Pfaff Creative Vision...I use both of those machines today.

Anyway, all that to say that one day I was wondering why I wasn't using the lovely designs from the Pfaff cards and this is what I did. These doilies are stitched out on my CV in the 200X200 hoop. The circular frame is one of Sue Box's designs that I just love. The floral design is an applique design from Pfaff CF card #7-design #14. I used the Encore feature in my 5D software and multiplied the design 3 times (that's all that would fit in the frame). Using that combination of 3X the floral and the frame here are 3 different stitchouts that I made.
1. White on white - I did not do any of the colour changes;
2. I did colour changes but ignored the applique; and
3. This was the same as 1 and 2, but this time I included the applique.
What a fun experiment! Hope this gives you all some ideas; especially, don't forget about your "oldie goldy" designs just because you have a newer machine.
Blessings to you all, Avis

Beautiful work, Thanks for saying the doily design came from Sue Box.

It is only the frame that is from Sue Box, not the floral in the centre. The floral is from an old Pfaff Creative Fantasy card; design #14 on card #7. I use this Sue Box frame for many of my doilies. Thanks for your comment. Avis

Love the white on white one, so classic and elegant.
Well done, all of them!

Tone-on-tone always seems elegant to me. The first time I did it was on pillowcases that I gave to my in-laws many years ago. Thank you for commenting. Avis

Love your doilies. I too started with the Pfaff 7570 and still use it today.
I cannot transfer designs to my machine because the software is not compatible anymore, but the cards are forever. I use my Pfaff for all my decorative stitches and still use the Maxi stitches that they have taken away from the newer models. I now have a Pfaff Creative 4.0 and love it and all the bigger hoops that are available. Thanks for sharing your work. Well done.

Are you using 3D software? or the one that came before that...was it PCD? When I bought my 2140 I only had 3D and I transferred my designs by putting a card in the machine and then transferred them to my computer. The designs have a red sewing machine as an icon but the newer machines will still read it. If you have a blank card you can put designs on that. Send me a PM if you think I can help you. Love those Maxi stitches, too! Thanks for your comment. Avis

Thanks for information, but I use my 7570 as a sewing macnine now and embroider on the Creative 4.0. My software still came on a stiffy in 1988, yes it was pcd. I use Artista V7 software as I also have a Artista 730 and I can convert to VP3. Hugs Lynette

The applique took the most time because of the fiddly trimming but it was worth it. Thanks, Lillian, for your comment. Avis

What a great size Avis, big enough to stand a vase on it, but it would be such a pity to cover up such lovely work. Well done it's always nice using the designs that are on our machines. Love Chris

Really nice designs. You are so correct, don't forget the old designs. I have to try the rotating to fill a frame.
