I took a class about a month ago at one of the quilt shops and we made this potholder with layers of folded strips. The most fun was sharing time with other sewers. I need to tweek the design a bit as the one point of my star just disappeared into the border!! I did a faux border by folding the backing to the front and this used up some left over fabric from a previous project I had made. Not sure if I'll make it again as that was a lot of work for just a potholder!! Anyway, I tried it. Avis

Mine is a repetition of the same over and over, with added points as the design got bigger. I like the finishing of your hotpad better. Mine has been around awhile and the fabrics have slipped and gotten a bit "wonky" over time. Anyway, I thought it might give you some ideas for changes for your next one. I probably won't be making another as I really don't remember how I did this one. Already have too many projects anyway. I'm sure whatever you do will turn out great.

Oh my, that is certainly worth a WOW!! I'm sure it was more work intensive than mine was and I just love it. Thanks for sharing this with me. Avis

Nice work, I like it. I did something similar years ago. I'll have to get it out and take a picture. If you are going to tweak the design, it may give you some ideas, though yours looks more interesting than mine.

Too pretty to sit a pot on! It may have been a lot of work but the end result was worth it- love the fabrics you used too. I must have missed this earlier.

Yes, it was fiddly; however, sometimes it's the things that take extra time that show well. Thanks for your comment. Avis

Thank you, Chris. I have a couple of other patterns using this "foldy-fabric" idea that have been sitting. I thought that by taking a class it would help me understand the instructions...but, for a rainy day!! Blessings, Avis
