My family is celebrating a very special event.

20 years ago my son at the age of 35 had a kidney transplant. We hope to celebrate many more years. I am so grateful and I want to take this opportunity for any one to consider registering as a organ donor (if you haven't done it already) and discuss it with family members.

Congratulations and I also hope he has a long and happy life ahead of him. I live in Wales in the UK and if I am correct that one has to opt out of organ donation otherwise it is considered deemed consent

I think that is great. Here in the States it is the other way around.

Congratulations, may he live a long and happy life!
Having had cancer I can't be a donor, but quite a few family members are registered.

It is also a wonderful thing for the family who loses someone who was a donor. It gives meaning to their passing, knowing that they benefit so many.

Fabulous - exactly why I have been little yellow duck bombing again this weekend!

I am ashamed because I still have not done anything about the ducks.

Thank you so much for posting this. Indeed many people would have a better life with a donated organ. We do need more people who are willing to donate.
How wonderful you are able to celebrate this. Hope you can celebrate this event for many years to come. Congratulations with this special event. Hugs/love Gerry
