Your daughter did well she will have more confidence now for next time and I expect you had a few lovely hours of mother and daughter time sewing the dress my two daughters bring things to me to sew sadly they have never been interested in any hobbies of any kind not like me and both hate sewing of any kind
That is such a classic dress and you and your daughter did such a great job. My little granddaughter may just wind up with several of these! Perfect for summer! I can just picture this made out of pretty seersucker
That would be nice. I am sure the pattern can be easily adjusted and they are so simple to make.
So cute! Your daughter did wonderful! So lucky to have you to help!
Thank you. I really want her to love sewing and embroidery as much as I do. I also want it to be relaxing for her and not stressful or she won't like it. It's not easy if you have to stop and tend the kids.
That's why I looked after them while she sewed. Even though I made her dad the prettiest omelet, while fixing Gus's bottle and Nora's plate, WITHOUT any salt and pepper!-lol- First time I ever did that-lol-lol
Wonderful Job mom!! Nice she has you to help her too Toogie! MY MY Avery has gotten so tall! She looks great! Cute dresses too!
Thanks about the dresses.
I knew you could tell more her size in this chair, even though it's not a great picture of her, in this gown and bunched up socks-lol Maybe mom will send a pic when they wear their dresses.
Great job~my how Avery has grown...
Yes mam, she has! Sometimes it's even hard for me to believe. We had Swiss Family Robinson on, in the bedroom where she was in lying on the bed. I lay down with her and we cuddled, she likes that. She also likes all the shouting and excitement, makes her laugh out loud. She jumps and she laughs at herself for jumping, when there is a loud bang.
Such cute dresses and cudos on getting your daughter interested in sewing. I so wish mine wanted to.
Our little honorary Cutie is really getting big! I can't believe how she's grown. Give her hugs and kisses from this grandma.
Ashley has shown interest before, but it's never been time for her. She wanted to learn smocking when she was pregnant for the twins. They came early and since then seems like there hasn't been time. Yesterday we made time.
SIL came in early so was there when Avery got off the bus and I watched the two little ones here.
I told my hubby after she left I could have made 3 or 4 in the time it took her, because she sewed on the s-l-o-w-e-s-t speed, but I held myself back and let her do what she felt comfortable with. (It was hard, though-lol) They need to learn as I have to leave this for somebody!-lol
Just when I got her sister into embroidery, she bought a machine, built a sewing room, even joined and made a comment on Cute.... then went to work in a job outside the home!
Our Cutie is growing and I will be more than happy to give her some lovin' from you. I bet your little grandson isn't so little anymore either. Give him a hug around the neck from us.-Toogie
Love the dresses, the girls will look adorable together. Avery is certainly growing up. Nice to see she's putting on weight, not so good for your back.. Marian
Yes, she can't remain small, but sure wish she had a lift. Sunday when leaving church, Ashley (my daughter), hurt her back getting her out of her chair into the van. I guess while I'm wishing I may as well wish for a van she can roll up in and not have to transfer out of her wheelchair into the van seat.
SIL works on Sundays right now but I told Ashley ASK a man to help her. She says she don't want anyone hurting themselves lifting her and they know SIL's not there. Sometimes even though they 'know' sometimes they don't 'think' to help but are willing if you ask.....You are right, extra pounds is more dead weight and not good for any of us with our bad backs.
