Love you small bag, I must get me some of these snaps. Does anyone have the link to there web page?
I am on my phone but just google Kam Snaps and you should find them. All the bags are the same size just the red is thicker fabric.
Jenne, I added the link above- I ordered the basic starter kit/rainbow snaps. Mine came with the awl and dies for other size snaps. I also ordered extra colored snaps and so far, I have just used the size 20, but have ordered twice from them. Also check for coupons!!! I have used these on bibs, seatbelt covers, these bags, etc and I love them. So much prettier than the silver open pronged I use to use. Hope you get them too-Toogie
I have a store-bought bag similar to this. My sis is always commenting on it when we fly together. Now I can make her one! Thanks for sharing..
You're welcome and good to hear from you. I hope the bad weather that went through didn't affect you.
spendlove, this one was made up with all lighter weight and folded and snapped much easier. If any of the fabric is thick, it doesn't work as well.
I saw some rather like this in a shop this morning! My version is to applique the business part onto one of the bag pieces. It has an elastic loop to fasten the roll. I have to tweak the design a bit - adding denim to very lightweight fabric wasn't 100% successful!
The canvas bag I did wasn't ideal either, too thick to snap when folded up. I guess we have trial and error, sometimes.
This one is polycotton sheeting. (The ones in the shop were nylon.) Version 2 will be in a heavier fabric and the applique may be in vinyl without a satin stitched edge. The trimming wont be easy though!
Hey Toogie-how ya been? I clicked on this link and then took me to Craftsy where I am registered but for the life of me when I sign in and do PW nothing works. Haven't been to this place in a coons age but no way will it let me sign in--had to find my login info and all correct--still a no go to get this cute stow a way. I have a sample kind of like this [not so cute though] where I've saved for one of those 'one day I'll make it' but that day hasn't arrived yet. Yours is way, way more cute.
You need to make one so when that day does arrive, you'll have it! Try again at Craftsy. Sometimes places do me that. A place might send me a newsletter, then I go to the site and try to log in and acts like it never heard of me. Then when I try to re-register, it will say they have someone with that email. I want to say YEAH, IT'S ME!- go figure.
Thanks, You find the neatest projects!
Actually, I can't take the credit for finding this. A Cutie here put it up a year or more ago and I saved it. I'm just finding a need for it and thought I'd share the link again, as that's what we do here. Glad you like my projects so thanks!
They are both beautiful and practical! Thanks for the link.
Hugs, Lidia
Thank you, the red was more work, but I like the top best, except for the shorter handles. I also thought that color could be a tote a man may not mind carrying.
Thanks for the reminder Toogie have had this one for a while, do ya think maybe I should make one sooner rather than later.. lol
Thankyou Toogie, I have always wanted this bag pattern, so practical.
Looks good and very practical. Now all I need is a memory boost once I make one. I always seem to forget that I actually have something like that in my purse, or my bags are in the trunk of my car.
Now you're sounding like me....forgetful. Thanks and yes, bags are always needed for one thing or another.
This is a great bag to bring when traveling. Perfect for shopping and perfect for those wonderful deals we can't fit.
You're right Karen and I remembered how the lady was from the last trip. Even so, anyone could use an extra bag.
I love it Toogie!! I have some bags like this that I bought from a site that sold blanks to embroider on. I can't remember which site. I took one on my Cruise last year. I gave my "Sewing Sisters" one of them also. I'm going and check the pattern. Thanks for sharing.
I'm glad you like it and you can make some for your next sewing cruise. I can't even find the Cuties, who first put it on Cute for giving us this link, but I do thank them again. I saved the pdf and when I think how sometimes you need an extra bag for all your souvenirs, I thought this would be the perfect gift 'giveaway' on our trips. I am glad I had this pdf and they aren't hard and time consuming to make at all. Kathy, do you have any ideas of something different to make for a give away? I have done the zip cases, journal covers, make-up bags, totes, etc.
How about a water bottle carrier, chap stick/usb holder, hand sanitizer holder and small tissue box cover for your purse. The water bottle carrier I have is a sewing pattern and I filed it under Quilt Guild Patterns, but I can't find the website. Hope this helps.
Kathy
Thanks Kathy. I have made the water bottle holders and in fact have a few already made. I don't think I have a hand sanitizer holder pattern or ITH design, I do have a key ring usb holder ith and the tissue cover, although have never made any. Thanks for these ideas as I didn't want anything too time consuming to make. I need to make about 20 more items.....made 11 already.
