I've had a very strange experience with Embird today. The Font Engine refused to use the letter l. Anything with a letter l in it was left with a gap where it should be! After trying a dozen or so different fonts, I eventually found one it would play nicely with.

Any ideas why this happened?

Wish I knew, Sue......some of the bernina fonts will not do a letter or two... it is sporadic and boy, is it maddening!! Have never figured out why, unless when they loaded the software with the fonts they could have skipped a letter or two?

Font engine doesn't use preloaded fonts - it uses those from your PC. In theory, if you can type it - you can digitise it!

This might not be the most insightful answer, but have you tried restarting Embird? Or tired a different phrase?

I've restarted Embird and the problem is still there. Although I have discovered that the lettering is fine above a certain size. When I go below that threshold the ls disappear!

There was something online about the small lettering disappearing and how to fix it. I am not where I can look right now...but give it a Google search and see (if you can find it) if it helps you at all. The answer may be from Embird.

Hm, I have seen this behavior in the other direction, when letters with satin stitch become to large Embird will simply not fill elements where the stitches would be too far apart.
