I wonder about conversion software...

had an old Embird version, was completely happy with as I could convert files easily - for example from PES to JEF (my new machine is a Janome) - even whole folders with no problem or time effort.
This does not work anymore and I lost key to reinstall. Should I buy their new basic version? Have dl the free Wilcom true sizer but obviously am too stupid to convert files - only EMB but this doesn't open in the Janome software attached to my new machine....Would some of the cuties now what else I could use (free) or should I buy the new Embird at a reasonable price? Thanks for advice - Maria

Thank you all, dear Cute Ladies! Hope the problem is solved. One of my sons found the mistake and made everything going again :-) But I am so grateful to you 'cause now I also can use additionally the free my editor Wings software which is a big help too.... Again I want to say how grateful I am for the new Janome memory craft and for your recommendations for that. Hugs - Maria

I believe Martine is spot on...if you have your passwords you can just download Embird and they should activate it...if you do not have the most current version, it would be a very minimal amount to upgrade to the most current version...that is what I would do first...and bonus that you do not have to learn a new program!

You can contact Embird and they will give you all your info to reinstall. They will have a record of it.
Also you can update your version for a very small cost which will give you the latest version of what you bought originally. Far cheaper than strating all over again.

If you remember your password and your personal info when buying, can you not contact the Embird owner for reinstall? Seems I've heard that they comply.
Another free software is http://www.wingssystems.com/index...
Not only conversion and printing, but size, color, merge, and delete parts of design. I've used it for years and love it. I prob use it more than PE Design program.

I agree, contact Dusan (Embird owner/developer). I did when my old laptop was stolen. I had the passwords for the various modules saved on an USB stick, but not the registration number. Got it by return mail.
I just bought a 11" notebook as it is easier to take with me than the larger and heavier laptop, and downloaded Embird on it, put the USB stick in the machine and it worked automatically. So maybe the passwords are enough to recognise you.

Thanks so much both of you - the Embird (grateful to one of my sons) is working again - seems it was a small error only and was re-installed by my son again - but also I am grateful for the wingssystems which is a great and free addition :-)

I use Wilcom TrueSizer to convert to JEF. I also use it to print the designs with the colors because I don't get that with the new Janome software.
It is a bit of a learning curve to convert but I think there is a tutorial somewhere and I copied all the steps. My husband did all my converting for me before he passed. I had to learn it all over again.
It only does one design at a time which is slow if you are doing a whole alphabet. But it is free.
