Zipper Tabs-For someone wanting to know how I make them. We forget it may be simple for some of us older sewers, but we always have a newbie or someone just wanting to know.

Ok- Cut 1 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch fabric.
Fold 3/8 inch in the two short ends and press .
Then fold long edges together, so raw edge meet in the center, and press.
Fold that one more time, making the folded edges meet. It will end up between 1/4 and 3/8 in.
Then sew together along the folded edge all the way down, that edge only.
Slip your ring on now. I find it's easier now.
Fold your length in half, with your ring at the fold.
Sew with a stretch stitch (I use this back and forth stitch to really secure, but you can use regular stitch) across the open end, along one side, across by the ring (not too close, because you have to work it into your zipper glide hole & you don't want to hit with your needle!) and sew down the other side. Easy peasy.
The 0 split ring size is 0.47 inch or 12mm. In the USA you can find them at a Michaels. There are 50 in a pack for around $2.50, BEFORE you use the 40% on your phone, from the Michaels site.-lol- Good luck Toogie

Thanks Toogie for writing this up. This gives such a finished look to your bags. I definitely will use this on the next one I make!

Great idea to share, there are quite a few embroiderers that do not know how to sew.

I guess I am learning that. I just assumed sewing came first.....

So did I. Historically it did, but that does not apply to younger ones.

Thanks Toogie. Some of us didn't ever take home economics and learn properly how to sew. (So, we just mostly embroider.)

With a mom and grand mother that sewed, how could I not be interested and learn-lol. Although, I did have a sister that wasn't interested. Mom bought us 3 girls yardage-was told to make our own gown-I was the youngest and my oldest sis and I made ours. We always said the middle one would have slept naked, if momma hadn't made hers!-lol

It is very good of you to share your tricks with others. Your bags always look so professional.
I have been sewing for more years than I care to remember but lots of things I have never done so we all get to learn from each other.
Thank you.

Yes, we do Barbara, learn from one another, that's why I love Cute so much!!!
You're always welcome Barbara. I don't mind explaining, but I thought someone might think 'why did she put that? It's so simple'. It really is, IF you know how, but for those that don't know or hadn't thought about it, may not be so simple.
