Hello my Cuties,

Tell me please, if you buy a used machine in this case a 10 needle, can you get lessons how to operate it? Where can you get lessons, at a dealer?
I have a friend that has purchased a beautiful Babylock Enterprise BNT 10l. She bought it from a friend of a friend, in another state. She doesn't know how to operate it and asked ME if I could help her. Although we both have single needle machines, I've never seen a muti-needle operated.
I looked up the manual for it and have a headache after only getting through the first 65 pages, of 300 and something.
She lives about an hours drive from a dealer, but don't know if they would give her lessons, because she never got it there. I live an hour away from her but am willing to go try to help her, if I knew what I was doing. She doesn't have internet.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I watched a few You Tube videos. Is the threading complicated as a serger? Can you insert files, say different lettering, to make a monogram already on the machine or do you purchase a separate program?

Oh Toogie, I bought one last year. I have the best dealer in the world. My first Baby Lock machine was bought at a Martha Pullen event. After I got home I called my dealer and set up an appointment for the them to show all the functions. I have bought an Embellisher, Ovation and the Enterprise from them. They will give lessons as long as you live!!! I wish I was near you I would gladly help you and your friend.
It is real easy to learn. You will have fun learning with her and maybe buy one for yourself. Have fun, Kathy

Have fun. Multi needle machines are easy to operate, only one needle is working at a time. There is loads of information embedded in the machine to help operate it. Maybe we will be hearing that you have got one too. To get the design from my laptop to my machine I use the internet

I know she has several ports for internet, sticks, etc but she doesn't have internet where she lives.

I am positive once someone would show me, I could understand and help her. I have thought of going to the dealer an hour away and maybe getting them, to demonstrate one for me. I don't think they would though, unless they thought I was a serious buyer.
I went into their shop once for a part for my machine. They acted towards me like the sale ladies did Julia Roberts, in Pretty Woman. I said then, I wouldn't buy from them, they were so snooty.

I see you mostly have your answer. Most dealers will offer to teach at a ridiculous hourly rate, because they are already unhappy machine not bought through them. What if you took your computer and ya'll went to a coffeeshop with internet and SHE studied the videos and took notes. If you posted her city (not her name) and the machine she has on here, someone might just pop up and volunteer to go help her - and she'd have a new friend! I would try to figure out only the basics before you go help her. She can figure out the details later. Right now, she needs to know how to thread, load a design, hoop, and move around in the screen on her machine (if it has one). There's only so much new one can comprehend at one time. You can talk her through things like stabilizers later over the phone, as questions arise. Be sure to encourage her to join here, for those occasional days when she does have internet access. Any more, this is my go-to site for advice. Hope ya'll have a fun and not too frustrating day.

I know there is a lot to learn and I wish she was closer, as I know it will take awhile for us to learn. She has asked me to stay over, but don't know how hubby will like that. I am sure she knows all about stabilizers, as she has a single needle that is more upscale than mine. She really is a smart woman so I think she will catch on IF I have anything to teach her.-lol

I would guess there might be some lessons on You Tube for this machine...

I have looked at some videos using this machine but maybe if I searched 'lessons for Babylock Enterprise 10l' I might learn something. She has no internet and I sure don't want to have to use my phone for it while I'm there.

I have the enterprise by Baby lock LOVE IT!!! I bought it at the dealer in my area. They give lessons on it if you need it for free. I did not need the lessons . They showed me once how to thread it and I was good. I also have the baby lock Elissimo Gold and the 10 needle works a lot like that machine so I did not require the lessons. Your friend can get lessons from the dealer but may have to pay a little bit if she did not buy it there. She should ask.
If your friend gores to the baby lock web site she may be able to look at videos there. Does she have the manual ? That helps a lot if you are unsure what to do. The machine is very user friendly... If she looks on the screen of the machine there are videos in the help section to show her how. Hope this helps? Suzanne

Oh thank you Suzanne for replying. If I can go to the onscreen help of the machine maybe that would be better, than reading all these pages.
We have reserved Saturday, as a day I can go, if I am better from my cold/cough.
Does it have a program built in for the lettering to do monograms? That is something she wants to do.

yes they have built in fonts a lot of different one different sizes. She should have fun. Just dive in and have experiment... Threading is self explanatory just follow the arrows. I wish I lived closer because I would go too and show her. Lucky to have such a great machine. Very user friendly! Suzanne

I wish you lived closer too! Pearlie said she got it at a good price (IDK???) but now may be regretting it, because she hasn't used it. I do so hope I can help get her started. She told me she has a relative that lives close to her and has a commercial machine. She refuses to help Pearlie. (Sad) I don't know if she thinks Pearlie will take her business/clients or what. I don't even know if Pearlie would sell or just make for her family.....
