Hi everyone, I am having a problem with static thread and also the the spool. The thread gets stuck in the groove where the thread goes to keep it from unraveling. I have tried sanding it. The thread still gets caught in it when sewing. Now to the static part. What are you using on your thread to keep the static away.

Have you tried those waffle rubberized sheets or anything rubber under your machine? It is such a nuisance to be full of static.

Just a thought......
Do you have Nylon/ nylon blend carpet on the floor?
Make sure you wear leather soled shoes and no nylon/blend clothes at all.
I have to be careful in stores that have carpeting as I get electric shocks if I touch anything metal, leather shoes seem to reduce this.

Have you tried using a thread net? It should solve the problem you are having with the thread catching on the spool burrs...it might also help with the static.

Another option is to use the thread sideways instead of upright. I had problems with a particular brand from Queensland that did exactly the same thing as yours. I also tried smoothing the base of the spool and in the end had to throw most of those threads away. I'm assuming that you can use the threads on top of the machine as well as lying sideways. You can also place thread in a cup, bottle ect. I'll put up some piccies of what I mean. Good luck knotty. ❤️ Chris

Have you tried using a large spool cap to prevent the thread from snagging in the little grooves? As for static thread, I keep a bottle of lotion close by and slather up my hands as often as necessary. Have considered using an anti-static spray directly spray on the threads but haven't because it may damage the tread.

Turn the thread upside down.

It sounds like you would benefit using a humidifier. Remember, embroidery machines have computer components that can be ruined with a single static shock.

Humidity should be about 50% in the room for computers and embroidery machines.

What a terrible thought, this would me I shouldn't be using my sewing or computers at all this summer. The floor tiles always feel like they have just been washed.

I've never had a problem with static and thread, but what if you added a large bowl of water in the room to raise the humidity? Also, is it a static charge, such as from the carpet to the soles of your shoes to the machine?
