Now that is a perfect day and a very special friend. I hope you are let out of the house more often. hehe
I hope they let me out again too, Karen. It felt good and we both enjoyed our day. I bought (shh---don't tell too many people) more fabric. Couldn't resist a little over 21 yards for $21.20. ..... Do they have Fabrics Anonymous meetings?-lol
I can "hear" the spring in your step. You NEEDED that mat and time with a friend. Hugs!
So glad you agree and yes, it helps to have some ME time. I have been dealing with a very sick sister and was good to have a day, without that worry.
Great deal! Love those coupons...and the rotating mats sure make some things soooo much easier to do!
I knew a friend would agree that I NEEDED one!-lol I love coupons too and not ashamed to use them or my Senior Discount!-lol-....I remember when we were building our house. My husband sent me early one morning for something. I think my hair was blonde at this time (been all colors) and I wore it in a ponytail that morning at 7am, no makeup. When I checked out they didn't ask if I was a Senior but just gave me the discount. I guess I looked the part!-lol-
Double joy. 1. being together with a friend going shoppng. 2. finding a good deal. Perfect day.
You know 1-they don't let me out by myself...... lol-just kidding, but maybe they SHOULDN'T let me out by myself. 2-Kathy says she sure enjoys finding deals with me. I told her I don't need anything that I have to pay full price for.-lol- I just got off the phone with another friend from school & church. We have been laughing and talked so long she apologized for calling and staying on the phone so long, but she says she always enjoys our conversions because I make her laugh. Nothing like a good friend you can comfortably say anything to.
Love good deals and i love hearing about yours hugs
Well I had been cutting small quilt pieces and thought this rotating mat would benefit me, but I sure wasn't paying full price. I'm so glad Kathy remembered our 60% off coupon, as I sure didn't.
Picture this, when she reminded me of the coupon and that I could get 'that thing' I had looked at earlier, I just gave her this blank stare. Oh and I forgot to add we were already in the check out line. I said, what thing?-lol- I tell you sometimes I think my mind is on vacation and it must be Around the World trip! So she said you know the mat that spins around. I'm still staring and she makes a rotary cutting motion...then it ding, ding, ding, registers and we both get out of line and go get them.-lol
Toogie sounds like you had a good day. I too went out with a friend but no fabric or anything was bought but I had a brilliant day
It is nice to spend time, with people our own age, that also have much of the same interest. I am glad to hear you had such an enjoyable day too. Did you just 'look' or not shop, go to a movie? How did you spend your time? We went to several stores and also looked for some flooring. She wants to change the flooring in her bedrooms. She took home some samples to decide.
Of course too, we can't go out without eating something so we just stopped by a Subway shop. Do you have those in your country? She had to be back at a certain time to fix the communion at her church. So we came back here and had coffee and a sweet before she had to leave.
Sew much fun shop with a friend. Great buy!!!
We thought so too Kathy.
This lady graduated high school with my DH. I always knew her, when I would see her, but I really never visited or spent time with her, not even when we went to Maine in October. It was at the end of this trip she asked me if I would help her get started with her embroidery, give her some lessons when we got home. She had a 4x4 machine, but really wasn't sure how to use it. She's been coming over ever since and went shopping together twice now. She is a retired registered nurse like my sister, although she still works one day a week at her daughters clinic.
Sounds like you had an enjoyable day it's fun to shop with a like minded friend
Yes, it was. It is also good to spend time with your own age too and laugh a lot! I have invited another lady, that went on the Maine trip, to come over next week. I learned while we were on the trip that she has a multi needle embroidery machine and doesn't know how to use it. She has just personal ones like me, but she bought this commercial one, because she got such a good deal from an individual. I saw it and it looks brand new.
Anyway, what I really wanted to tell you is she quilts. I visited her right before Christmas, as she lives near my aunt and uncle. She has made the most beautiful quilts. She must have shown me 15 or 20. She said her family had had their Christmas early and she gave each of them a quilt. I think she said seven!
So she suppose to come one morning. Then so far, I have at least 3 more ladies from the trip coming that afternoon for coffee and cake to visit with us.
I wanted the morning with just her and I so we could get in my sewing room and talk quilts. I am looking forward and hope she can make the drive as she is about an hour, one way, away. She said just so she gets home before dark.
I also wanted to tell you a new lady in my class at church invited me to meet with them this week. She is starting up a quilt group and wants me to come meet with them. I had been down in my back since Sunday so I had to miss this meeting. Today was my first outing this week. She has already invited me to come to the next meeting as she would like it to be once a month. I hope to go next month, but we will see.
