Hi Guys, not sewing related but am deeply shocked by the tragic events that happened in Melbourne today, as a former Melbourne resident I can relate to this very much, for those not aware, a car deliberately ploughed into a shopping mall in the city today, at the moment 3 dead & over 20 injured this included children from 3 months of age to 12 year old, just couldn't believe what I was seeing on the news, sorry everyone but I'm so affected by this. I have family who live & work there but thankfully are o.k. The driver has been arrested & I hope they throw away the key

Very sad indeed. Like you I also think they use mental illness as an excuse. I also hope they throw away the key when and if he goes to jail, I may seem harsh but people like him are a waste of space.

I can never understand why these terrible things happen anywhere in a beautiful world, Sadly the little 3 yr old passed away overnight. The driver had stabbed his Brother & assaulted his Mother in the morning. I'm guessing he will get some reduced sentence due to mental illness & I know this an awful thing to suffer with but I sometimes wonder if it's just an excuse for some people

I also have a nephew living in Melbourne, he has 3 friends in that area yesterday and has been unable to make contact with them up until last night. I hope last night they were able to make contact. Prayers and thought we all.

Terrible to watch the footage on TV.
This individual had also been involved in something like a stabbing earlier in the day. Drugs and mental issue were mentioned.
Hopefully this is not an excuse that will get him a light sentence. One of his victims was a baby in a pram.
Yes a permanent sentence is due.

Although I believe in the overall goodness of people, tere's some meanness and craziness in this world. Prayers for those involved in this tragedy.

Hi Irene, Trev and I were both shocked and saddened by this atrocious event as we watched it on Television this evening. We too lived in Melbourne for 9 years and know the city well. Prayers for all of those who have died and their families. Also prayers for the many injured in hospital. A sad day for Australia and only a week away from the national holiday. ❤️ Chris
