I went to the meeting and fellow shipped with about a dozen more women. I wanted to show you some of the beautiful quilt tops they made.

The first one is a sampler quilt, given to veterans who served our country. Look at the feathered star, I think that's what its called and also the birds appliqued. The second photo, a runner. 3rd Is this what's called a rail fence? 4 & 5 are quilts they do for another cause, for children suddenly removed from their homes. The last is their own private work, when they work on whatever they bring that day to the meeting.
I thanked the ladies for inviting me. Although they work for worthy causes, I don't think I can find time to commit wholeheartedly. I really went to see what it was all about, to share ideas and to learn about the group. Anyway, I hope you enjoy looking at their quilt tops.

Yes and most likely been quilting a long time. I know one of the women there must be 65-70 years old, a retired school teacher. Her mom is in her 90's and not long ago quit quilting. They both have quilted for years.

Ahhh my kind of get together. Like you I'm so pushed for time these days. Haven't been able to attend or make things for the Home makers Club since way last year. These quilts are all beautiful. I really enjoy seeing things like this/Lillian

I know its a lot of work and only meeting twice a month, probably took a long time. One of them has a long arm quilting frame, so she quilted it. I think two of the members actually made a kit, for the sampler. They may have purchased one before, I don't know.

It will be a great item for them all to have a go at. I'm sure they will be fine maybe with softer fabric. Denim and quilting fabric would be thick. I did something like this for my ladies luncheon - the Pan holders and decided not to use the quilted fabric as it was just too hard to turn and it made the seams thick. Good luck with it all, I'm sure you will be a big hit. Love Chris

I did enjoy my day out but don't think I will join another group right now. My life, like yours, is full. Thank you for encouragement. I hope you have a good 'back' day-Toogie

I think you should take it even though you are not completely happy with it. You have said the other Ladies sew and quilt and I think it would help break the ice a conversation starter as such. Maybe discus possible solutions to what you don't like?
You do such great work on your bags that you don't want to scare them off.

You might not have time to help but maybe donations of fabric or thread? They can always use that. Just a thought. Stella.

Yes, I donated (money) that day, but that is how they get most of their supplies, by donations. Thanks
