beautiful and your table runner is stunning as well. God Bless
Thank you Ruth, I'm sorry I didn't respond to you earlier but I just clicked back on this post. I see its been 5 days since you commented.I hope you're not freezing where ever you live!-Toogie
That is beautiful, I love it both ways, on point and lying flat. Where can I find the directions? I'd like to make one for me and my grandkids are learning to sew. I think this could be a good project (with lots of help) for them. They want to sew clothing and I know people who did that and never wanted to sew again !
This would be just sewing squares, at first, and turning right side out. I think with guidance from you they could make it.
Google origami candle mat from the fiery phoenix. When you get to the Fiery Phoenix there will be a link, if I remember right, to a template for sewing lines on where to sew the squares together.
Yes, encourage them all you can so they won't quit before they start sewing. Good luck!-Toogie
I love to do paper origami, and I really love this. You did a great job. Your table runner is gorgeous too!
Toogie this is stunning and I like what you have it on too
Thanks that's my new table runner I made....or were you talking about the candle stand?
these are so pretty, and all will look so different because of the completely different colours used. [I got as far as the video too, Barbaric]
Wow, it looks so festive Toogie. Thanks for the hints about the sewing of it. Love Chris
I love it both ways. Where did this come from? Is it made of squares of fabric? Seems like I've seen something like this at Nancynotions but unsure. Like very much both ways.
Look on UTube origami candle mat- It is squares of fabric and you can make them any size, I'm sure, but just so they are all the same size. I ironed Pellon 809 to ALL my squares but I think Sue said I should have only ironed on one color. Anyway, mine really has body!
You do need the template to show you where to sew the squares together, though!!!! Look at the Fiery Phoenix site, origami candle mat!!!
I don't think I will get one done, Love the one you did, great job.
I told my daughter I couldn't sleep, so this is what you can make, on those nights. I would like to see you make one, but I hope you don't have any sleepless nights.
Well done Toogie I did not do the centre stitching yours looks beautiful
I just looked at yours. Some don't have as many squares. Are those squares bigger or is the angle different? I still think I like your Oct 27 one best.
I love it Toogie. I hope maybe next yr I'll be able to do some of these/Lillian
That looks fabulous. I didn't stitch the extra seam on mine, but I like the effect that it has given yours.
Hope you don't plan to light the candle. I have a battery operated one in mine.
No I won't light it. This is the bottom of a heavy crystal candle holder, I'll have to get something else for it.
I don't know if its the top stitch in the under fold or the extra Pellon that makes it stand like it does. When I walk away and look at it, it reminds me of a huge spider with many legs about to crawl away.-lol
Great job. I may get around doing it next year. You sure are motivating me.
Very festive Toogie, you have done a wonderful job. The colours are super. Merry christmas to you and your family, I hope you all have a great time, and the new year brings peace, joy and happiness and good health. Look forward to seeing your creations in 2017. Sandra.
Thank you Sandra, I hope to be able to make new creations. I was on my trip, when carolpountney posted hers, so I missed these. I'm glad I saw the other Cutie baumlester when she posted hers 3 days ago.
It looks good Ms. Toogie. Victoria
Thank you Victoria for posting yours. I missed them earlier in the year. I love yours.
