I am going to have to get a new laptop that has Windows 10 on it (drat!!) Does anyone know if Embroidery Dedupter works on Windows 10? I have emailed the company - but, have not received word yet. I have used Deduper for many years now and I do not want to give it up. It opens zip files - keeps my PES and other files I want and archives the zip files for me. Thank you for any help you can give me!!! Hugs, Laura

Hi Laura...Yes Deduper works with Windows 10...I bought the Deduper program a month or so ago...still uneasy using it though...I like to keep my zip files in their original folders after they are unzipped...and the Deduper removes them..I know they can be archived, but would like it more if the program would unzip them and leave them in the original folder...I have been running Windows 10 for two years with no problems with any of my programs...I actually like Windows 10...I wouldn't go back...I don't think Microsoft supports Windows 7 any more and they are getting ready to stop supporting Windows 8...

Thank you, Kim!!! You might get the answer to your question about archiving by looking at

http://www.gransworkroom.com/soft...

or maybe you have already tried that. There are question and answers and a video there. I depend on Deduper!! Thanks again!! Laura

I knew you would come along soon enough dragonflyer. I am so happy you are using Windows 10. You do an excellent job of describing how to use software!

Thanks for the link, Laura...I know about archiving, but I still would like the zip folders left in the original files...It is much better for me especially when I back up to a CD or external hard drive...I don't think the zip files will back up and still relate to the original folders if I back up my embroidery file folders. I know the archive zips will "find" the original file folder, but I don't think that the archived zips will automatically back up to my external hard drive if I back up my embroidery files...or am I missing something?

Send Clay an email (from Gram's site) - eventually I received and answer from him!! Good luck!

You can still special order Windows 7 Professional...you just have to do it through the right places. It is not any extra money to do it -- just a little wait time.
Sorry, I don't know about the software. I don't use it.

Thanks Rescuer - I wanted to go with another Windows 7 computer - but, my "techie" husband says I need to get a Windows 10 (he insists!).

LOL... mine insisted too. I still have Windows 7. It runs what I need and doesn't mess with the other stuff on every single update. My husband loves the newest everything...
I hope your software will work for you. Good luck!

I certainly hope I don't regret giving into him on this - all my software works great. And, I know, I won't be able to use Sizeworks with a window 10 computer, which is not fun. But, he is so supportive of my embroidery hobby and I know he will help me get accustom to it!

I'm so glad he will work with you. Getting used to a new operating system can be hard. I am certain you are ready for that change. You do lots of hard things!
