I'll be seeing Bunker the Great Dane soon so I embroidered his name on a new collar. I'm sure he'd prefer treats.

Lovely Job! Do you have to use a special size and type of needle to penetrate the collar? May I also ask what type of stabilizer did you use? Thank you, Sharon

I'm curious, too, to know the hows of your technique. Sandra

I used Floriani Perfect Stick stabilizer and a needle for Jeans. Slowed the machine to its slowest. Stitched placement lines on the stabilizer, then stuck the collar down and stitched away. Easy peasy.

Thank you for your directions. I have wanted to try to embroider a collar for our sweet doggie, but have not had the confidence to do so. So you did not use an embroidery needle? Just a regular sewing needle in your embroidery machine? Silly me I did not know you could do that, and still have the embroidery machine stitch properly.. I have always used a 75 or 90 size needle marked for embroidery machines. I do not have a fancy embroidery machine, just a Brother Emore, embroidery only machine. Dealer sold me just those 2 size needles to use with it and I have never changed to anything else. I have never stitched on anything real thick like a dog collar before.

Excuse me, I meant Babylock Emore embroidery machine I have.
