Hi,
Know what you mean. We just had hurricane Matthew go through. My internet was out about 3 days (I was one of the lucky ones), Electric was out for a few hours (about a week for an 85 year old friend of mine). We're all OK, just cleanup and repair to do. I'm still about a week behind in my computer work.
Just hang in there and get done what you can and don't sweat the rest.
Love you,
Jane
Oh dear....this is yet to happen to my little world!!. The road gangs are in town making a mess of our footpaths and blocking parking spaces (10 at a time) in our main street shopping area. It is no wonder people are hostile to receive the reception you have experienced so far. Our only pharmacy was off the grid for 6 days.....how's that for efficiency?
I am already with telstra, mobile, disability land line and internet.....I might go bush to save my blood pressure!!!
Thank heavens I have savvy grandchildren to pave the way, their way of checking on me is a daily e mail roster, now that I would miss...Ann
GRRRRRR...there I said it with you! What a royal pain in the you know what...hoping that you get bumped to the top and your new service will work smoothly....
I am so sorry for yours and others rough time with phones and internet service. Wow, 7-10 days to get hooked up, unreal. I guess I can't complain when I'm out for a couple of hours.
I sure understand your frustrations with Telstra. I have had problems with them and it is hard when English is not their native tongue. I sure hope to have another ISP when we move. At the moment we are with actice8me which I find very good. Not sure if we will be able to stay with them. I sure hope you are soon back on line. Hugs Shirley
Keep your sense of humour as there is more drama to come yet. Did you hear about the Doctor surgery who can't receive calls and can't get out of the Telstra contract unless they pay $12,000 contract cancellation fee?
Story was on the Television news a week or so ago. Good luck.
I'll certainly try to keep my spirits up. I can tell you Barb I was nearly in tears after spending so much time trying to understand the 3 people I was talking too. English was not their native tongue. That is just dreadful about the Doctor's surgery, I hope it all works out in the end for them. Luv Chris
Oh I've heard some horror stories about NBN and Telstra's abominable record with connecting people. My next door neighbour's son, owns a real estate agency and had exactly the same sort of thing, no service for over two weeks and when he complained they supposedly completely disconnected his phones and supposedly demanded a similar amount to reconnect his business, oh and his home service was also disconnected as it was on the business plan.
Hope you enjoy you new eyesore. Our phone use to be in the hall but because we are on a slab ,it couldn't be there any more. The guy said it had to be on the other side of the wall where the outside connection was.No way it was going behind the lounge. No power point there anyway. So now it is in the corner hidden by a side table & lamp ,who wants 2 8" grey boxes hanging off the wall in a lounge room, not me.The cordless phone stays on the hall table where the old phone lived & goes back in the charger at bed time.Easy to get to,got sick of tramping through the lounge room to answer the phone.
Also we had to get another power point put in too, more chaos resulted.
Glad our internet is with Vodafone.
Hope every works out for you,at least the guy turned up on time ,actually he was early.
Judy, sorry to hear of your problem with the grey boxes . Mums modem fits on her kitchen bench. Looks ok 👌. Ours will be on the shelf in the kitchen and we have 4 other phones plugged into electrical outlets. Just have to wait! I think ours will a black modem. Luv Chris
What a nightmare. I hope you get bumped to the top of the list.
Let me suggest you go ahead and notify Veronika. It takes several days for that change to be made.
I'm ahead of you Jerrilyn. I've already written to her but we don't have an email address yet, so I will have to wait and be patient!! Luv Chris
