Yesterday I was able to go to the sewing machine shop that I use. Due to distance from home I don't get in more than a couple of times a year. I was able to have a good look round and catch up on sewing machine news and buy some supplies. I also collected a order that my friend had phoned through. I was also able to get yet more advice on the car of my machines. My next visit will be when my sewing room is getting nearer being a sewing room as I have been advised to have my PR machine serviced. It will be fun seeing if it will fit into a Nissan Micra.

I can not even imagine having to bring that big of a machine to the dealer. Now I am so glad to have been given a lifetime free service with my 10 needle. Now I pay for the trip charge and the service man comes to the house. Cheaper then bringing in the Elissimo for cleaning. Good luck and mind those planks of wood.

Then I need to count my lucky stars, our machine mechanic comes to our houses to service the PR machines. When his wife does classes in different towns he travels with her and services machines they travel over 450km each time they hit the road. They do several trips a month. I will have to buy him a coffee.

Hi Caroline. Now, I did try to warn you off visiting your dealer but no you just couldn't resist could you..................and you even try putting the blame on your friend for telephoning an order through to you. So now, at the very least you have the job of getting your machine down to the dealer for servicing or perhaps they will persuade you into buying a new machine by way of part exchange to celebrate and adorn your new sewing room! Thinking about it, they may even deliver a new machine and collect the part-exchange machine for you. That solves the problem of getting your machine into your Micra.........but if that is what you have to do then please make sure that there are two of you lifting your machine into the car................I would hate to hear that you are unfit for sewing duties due to a strained back! I'm sure that you don't need me to support the idea of a new machine and so I will creep back into my man corner.............lol.

Dennis you have the ability to make one smile over your comments. I don't want a new machine and my PR was the shops demo machine. The service is brilliant and somehow I will, plus one get the machine down the stairs minding the planks of wood in the way waiting for some project or other.

I'm delighted that you saw the intended humour in my comments Caroline. It seems that we are both fortunate with our Brother dealerships with the service that we receive from them. Fortunately, my service engineer is happy to come to me despite the travel distance. Frankly, I would struggle badly to get my PR1000 lifted into the car. Now just you mind those planks of wood on the stairs.

You may wind up having to rent something to load the machine in to take it home. I hope not and proud you are getting nearer to finishing your sewing room/Lillian

Hm an interesting thought and that will probably cost as much as the service if not more...

My heart goes out to you. I never enjoy the anxious minutes of getting my multi-needle from its stand to the vehicle. I'm not sure of who to worry about most, the humans or the machine. best wishes for a good fit.

I wish you all the luck in the world. I know that a Nissan Micro is not a very big car.

We can only get my EP-4 in the car when we remove the tread stand. Those multi-needles are large, heavy and difficult to get into a 'normal' car.
I am seeing my dealer on the 26th - demonstration of the new HV/Pfaff software (at least new in the Netherlands) and I'll have a good look round to see the new machines. I'll try not to buy. Leaving my credit card at home is no help, I've been a customer since 1998 and he won't hesitate to let me take anything home without paying...

Now that's my point being a valued customer. Carrying the machine down the stairs will be the first hurdle, followed by walking across the street to the car. Entertainment for some!

Yes but I don't feel I can ask someone to drive my machine there and back as that's two days they will miss
