He's just the right age to cuddle, hope you get to do lots of this. Adorable!
Oh he is growing like a week Toogie. His Dad,s oufit looks like it was made just for him. Saw an interesting quilt the other day. It was very very old and it was made with a babies outfits on it that were actually worn. Bonnet, gowns, booties, saques, dresses , gowns, various items worn during first 6 months. All were handmade and it was gorgeous. It had sunday clothes as well as everyday on it. If I had had a camera and they would have allowed me, would like to have had a picture. May get one yet since it was at an old cabin at a homestead near where we live. Lillian
I hope you are able to get a picture also. The quilt you are describing sounds beautiful.
I'm sorry I am late answering-been a busy week-end. I am like Leaha, I would love to see a photo.
I've thought about doing this for my grand daughters a quilt, Avery and Lanie, out of scraps from dresses I made them. I got an applique dress design free, from maybe Omas one time, and thought of doing the blocks with the same applique dress design, but the dresses would all be different colors, prints. Still haven't done it.........
As for as 'Gussy' (that's what 2 year old Nora calls him-lol) he is growing like a weed! Can't burn off calories, just eating and sleeping!
He looks like he is ready to take on the whole world Sweet hugs
Cute little boy and great pictures. I can well understand that you forgot to take pictures. It is always so excited when the grandchildren are there. Enjoy the time with him:-)
Hugs, Angelika
It sure livens up this old house, when they come in! Thanks for looking at his photos.
What a sweet boy! Time does sure fly by!
I know, its hard to believe, its been two months already. He's a very good baby....so far-lol
He looks fabulous. Love the sleeping picture. Bet you can't not touch and cuddle and rock and smooch!
He is soooo cute! Thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures, Toogie.
Hugs, Lidia
Sweet boy, great pics! It is really great that the outfit was his Dad's.
Toogie, he is adorable, brings back memories when his dad was that age i'll bet. Sandra.
I'm sure his dad's mom thought about that. My SIL is a twin and his twin, had a baby boy a few weeks, after Gus was born. Their mom gave his twin's wife, his outfit like this and they dressed him in it for baby dedication.
She didn't give my SIL his outfit until after baby dedication. She said she knew Gus was going to wear the gown the other children wore. She waited so long to give it, he won't be able to wear it long because it will be too short in the length and probably won't stay snapped.
Very cute, it's so nice when you can pass things on, my grand children love some of their fathers toys and books
That's so nice too, that you thought to save them. Nora wears all the dresses I made for Avery, as Avery could not get down and play to mess them up, they still look new.
Cute, cute, cute. It's so lovely to pass on outfits from one generation to another. Well done, love Chris
I am glad my girls used the clothes they wore, for their kids. They really wanted to, so I was glad I stored them.
My grandmother, that was born in 1889, made a baby quilt for my son when he was born. She was 81 at the time if memory serves me. Anyway, the top was a nine patch and the backing was blue with little toys all over.
I'll get to Marsha's in a minute.
Ashley had several. A niece made a huge yellow, baby quilt. My friend and her mother made a pretty, light pink one.
My mother made Marsha one and I have to agree with Marsha, it is the ugliest baby quilt we ever saw!-lol- But Marsha has it and still keeps it, because her grandmother made it for her. You see, my mom had a very bad car accident, shouldn't have lived by earthly standards, and after years of convalescing and rehab, finally was able to sew again. So even though it is quiet ugly, its loved and kept, for that reason.
