Can you hear me crying from your place? On the 11th April I wished my son a Happy Birthday then picked up a message from my niece. Suddenly my computer went down. It went to the Dr so I was using an old laptop which had a mind of its own. My computer came home after 2 weeks and went back. On the 22nd April I decided to shout myself a new Potbelly (fire) to keep me warm during winter. Two weeks after I had to ring and ask where the installer was. He contacted me a couple of days later and said he had to change so much. He is just replacing an old one that is still there. Then he told me I have to fix my roof. He said he could do this. I thought why get him to do this when the roof needs doing so I rank my roofing guy. I have a quote from him which I am pleased with but still haven't heard from the Potbelly installer. I haven't done any sewing as I was wanting to set up my machine near the new Potbelly. I was getting impatient so set my machine up and it made so many noises that it was telling me it needs to go to the Dr. I then set up my old machine, which I have to drag to the computer as it doesn't take a USB. I got it going but after every 6 or so stitches it will stop and tell me it needs rethreading. Now who in dear old Adelaide do I go to to get them fixed. No one here seems to service Brothers. Good news -- I have my computer back and it is working.

I am guessing all of this will come together as Winter is almost finished. My fault I should have thought about it during Summer.

Lynn, I don't know why tradies are so unreliable here in Oz. It is like they really don't want the job. I had the outside of my house painted at the end of last year (just the eaves, gutters, doors etc as it is brick veneer). It took them just on 3 weeks to do a job which should have been done in two or three days. It is so stressful getting things done I completely empathise.

My roofing guy is really nice but he is just so busy, which is great as he is young guy.

I was thinking more of the Potbelly installer. I don't understand when these blokes leave you hanging and you have to chase them.

If u are just putting in a new pot belly stove take off a couple pipes and get a Man if needed to lift it in for you if you need new stove pipes or reductions there under 10 bucks .Do it yourself or ask a neighbour to help ???Any man /women could do it Lynn??hugs

I rang a friend who installs Oil Heaters and apparently there are so many NEW rules and regulations it is not worth you doing it yourself for insurance reasons.

Have been told to keep away from them as far as repairs go. Sorry!

I knew you were having machine trouble back in March thought you would have found a repair man by now. Surely there is a Brother dealership in Adelaide. It is a Big city.

When it rains, it pours. Sounds like your were able to keep your sense of humor trough all this. Hope everything works out.

Last night I had a little glimmer of hope. My old machine works perfectly on plain sewing after I have taken the embroidery arm off. At least now I can make items with just the sewing machine.

Maybe I should be happy that everything is going wrong at the same time and that way I will enjoy the rest of the year.
