I had never seen one of these before. Using a brick for a door stop. Now that is a lot better then a shoe under the door.So of course I had to make one.

First I covered the brick with batting, then wrapped it like a present with the embroidered fabric . I dusted off my glue gun and glued all the seams. I decided I should take a thick ribbon glue it around the sides , not only does it clean up the edges but will act as a handle when I need to move it around. The design is from embroidery library link below.
Thanks for looking!

My daughter has a naughty door that needs a door stop and if I told her to use a brick , she would give me an evil eye. This may be a solution!! Kay

What a terrific way to use some of our smaller designs and make something functional at the same time......

Now, aren't you the smart one! Your design looks so welcoming too..... I think I would carry it by the ribbon, if it was stitched on, not glued. The weight of the brick may make the ribbon pop loose and we sure don't want you to break a foot....Toogie

I'm not trying to sound morbid, but I did the same thing with my Dad's ashes. I embroidered an American flag and his name on dark blue fabric.
Dad was a big fan of the embroidered gifts I made for him.

We buried my son's ashes, so I made a small quilt for the ashes. It was made of his pajamas, and his favorite fabrics for his quilt. He was disabled and 26 years old. I'd put a photo here but it won't let me. Not morbid, just loving and personalized

Looks great! I haven't seen the brick kind before either. I've made bags as doorstops though.
