As I promised Vicky I stitched the flower on a very thin fabric. It is slippery and synthetic, but I did not have a better fabric other than cutting a pair of nets in the bedroom which seemed a bit drastic.

The stitching is fabulous when done directly on the fabric, with a layer of wss underneath..
For the loose flowers I used a double layer of fabric to give it more body and a layer of wss. That was another story. The double layer kept shifting slightly. I washed the wss out, apparently not completely so the colour is darker, but it has just enough body to hold its shape better than the single layer would have done.

Beautiful--I watched a show where they used the spray adhesive to hold the sheer fabrics to the wash a way and also used the sticky wash a way stabilizer and stuck the sheer fabric to it. Hope that helps but really I don't see a thing wrong with your regarding the slippage you mentioned. I think they are just fabulous.

Thank you. I ran out of spray adhesive, but I am not too keen on using it on sheer fabric as it might cause stains.

Beautiful Martine I do believe I have the one with the pointy petals you did for me long ago. Have used it on scarves. You always are so helpful and these flowers are beautiful. Had not thought of doing it with gauzy type fabric/Lillian

The pointy one was an old design which I had made as an applique for my daughter in a 5x5" size with a couple of curly lines - used it on a black shawl with a blue/gold applique fabric. I came across it yesterday evening and thought I'd try it out in a much reduced size ( about 2") on this see-through fabric.
It is always a surprise when you use a design in a totally different way, don't you agree.
Hugs, Martine.

Thanks for sharing your experience with slippery fabric. Little hints along the way of learning about what workds are so helpful. I like your stitchouts and they would be nice to use on a lot of things.

Oh, Martine, now we're talking......as much as I like the other flower, this one is very elegant.......great way to use up the curtains........thank you for doing and showing this.......love that blue coloring......these would be pretty to stitch them on a top or jeans with the sheer fabric.....
