Wow! Glad all is well now. Did the first friend get unstuck?
"it's okay to make mistakes....as long as we learn from them...."
Glad they are alright....
Boys will be boys! I am glad no one was hurt! Suzanna
I had to show this to my husband. I've read the comments and some talk of stupidity but we don't know the facts other than he sunk and was stuck--thank God for no injuries--perhaps he was taking equipment to his property and the only way is through a frozen lake. As you said, ice on lake freezes thick enough to drive on--as we can see when we watch these t.v. shows like Ice Road Truckers that have to do this for a living, delivering goods to remote villages. I quit watch the show--too much of the same old same old and all the foul language. This guy and those in his presence knows the reason and he knows the cost of this unfortunate accident. Guess maybe next time he'll do a little better at calculating the tonnage and ice ratio.
yes for sure .He was trying to help his buddy who was stuck ,but they both got in trouble live and learn lol hugs
Go's to show there is always someone who will go where they shouldn't. Now he has to pay the price with his wallet and his pride
I misunderstood this as well at first, but after reading all the comments I have got it , it is a very silly person who has risked it and lost. thankfully not his life. lol
hugs Pam
Oh, Oh, I'm back. I just got the link. Son in a sling. Mom in a cast. Both adventurous and risk-takers. Now, show a little sympathy!
Boys and their toys... we've had several snowmobilers killed this winter. The last one was helping to rescue his buddies who went into the lake. Sadly, everyone was saved but this good samaritan. Then there are the boys who trespassed onto the Olympic track and lost their lives this weekend. Glad he is ok.
My goodness what a lot of snow, what were they doing out there anyway. I see caravans doted out there too, are these permanent vans on the site. I don't think i would like to be holidaying in this snow without skis on. Looks as though no one is hurt, thats good. Just think of what we could have all done with that amount of money. Do you think that they have learnt their lesson now. Sandra.
Lots of folks fish all day sleep get up and start again on there days off work:):)The ice is Way deep like 3 feet deep. They drive all winter across the ice to go to there reserves.
Oh my! Glad no one was hurt and I hope his tractor machine wasn't hurt with the water. My BIL thought at one time he would have to get a crane or a helicopter (lol), to get him out of the mud! I took photos back then as he was DEEP and my husband pulled the bumper off his 4-wheel drive, trying to get him out. The other 4-wheelers never got him out either. I can't remember how he finally got out. Sorry it cost so much AND the fine!!!-Toogie
I've heard about the independent Canadian spirit???
Oh my Carolyn, what our so called ADULT kids put us through. Seems it's always costly also. I'm glad mine are all getting up in age now(youngest is 54) they finally get wiser when they have kids of their own/Lillian
What lake was this and due know how much the fine was for?
It was a lake behind my sons camp .It cost 8 grand for the crane and the fire fighters (my son is also one of them)Don't know how much the fine is yet lol
How stupid to think he could drive that onto the lake. Eight thousand and a fine isn't enough. His is lucky he or someone helping to get it off the lake didn't drown.
This must have scared you or you know of someone that has gotten hurt badly in a similar situation for you to react so strongly. My pastor says we are all just one decision from stupid.
