I have had this, but mine was thread wrapped around ?? a wheel thing inside, managed to get it off with st,ripper and tweezers...wendy
Never had this to happen but I did have to fix my feed dogs one time--like you said--took a plate off at back of machine, cleaned and oiled everything and they've worked fine now for a few years. That was on my old Kenmore that I got in the 80's and still use it most of the time for general sewing. We can be brilliant sometimes.
Thank goodness I have never had this happen. Well done for fixing the problem
I once had the problem where I couldn't hit the "top speed". Turned out to be the foot pedal had a worn-out part in it, and was able to be fixed with a replacement part [thankfully]
yes had that to burned a few wires off so just rejoined them easy peasy :):)for a bush women lol
I am not surprised you machine ground to a halt - overworked. LOL
I haven't oiled any of machines. Maybe I should check them out.
Kathy
Did the fixer said that you over used it ? Wonder where he got that idea ? LOL
I Had once the same issue, but it was cos the thread got suck somewhere. But when I removed it I also putted some oil everywhere.
He said the bearing were dry ,all machines need oil even if repair man says no .I was shown this .It is true.
Great work Carolyn, lucky that you are now a two handed woman again. We all need drink sometime. Sandra.
I turned mine on last week, the lights were on but now one was home so to speak so wasn't sure what went wrong the motor or the foot pedal nothing happened. Luckily it was a broken wire in the pedal cord but was told can't get these pedals anymore and Dave used the last of his wire to fix it. I was congratulated on how clean and well oiled she was.
Glad you knew what to do with it!
A repair man maybe 10 years ago talked me through it on the phone as he was 4 hours from me .I will always thank him for that:):)
You know when you put too many miles on a car. Well you put too many stitches on your baby! She is crying for oil!!! Kay
I picture your machine having steam coming out of all openings!
lol i often think of that*** it is sewwwwwwwwwwww funny but its me that's steaming from a heat serge lol
Yup...had that happen and a good drink of oil solved the problem...
I shut mine off and turn back on. That has worked for me? Don't know whats happening.
Good for you. Saved a bunch of money.
I had something similar happen years ago and it was the electrical cord that went into the foot pedal had been knocked and was loose and coming out and in. Took me ages to work that one out.
Glad you are up and running again.
