Wonderful job and thank you for sharing the story along with them..Gibe him a hug from all us Grannies
Great designs for boys.........love the placements, too.....
What a great job! He's got a whole new wardrobe.
Great job on the patches. Now your Grandson can wear them a little longer. After he out grows them, ask your son for the jeans back and you can make your Grandson a quilt out of them. Happy Stitching!!!
Thanks. I think they'll probably go to the great grandson next. But that is a great idea.
Love your embroidered mending, looks terrific. The grands will think that they look very smart. I used to do this sort of thing when my children were young, only not fancy, I only had a plain sewing machine in those days and put coloured shapes at different angles, which worked then. You have done a lovely job. Sandra.
Glad you told us your method below. I had one son who was very gentle on his clothes and one who went through knees really fast, the record being one week on a new track suit. I, too, learned to pad behind the patch so the repair would last longer.
Bet your grandson is pleased they look great.
He doesn't have them yet. His daddy was here yesterday as he's working out this way for a couple days so when he gets home Sunday night or Monday he will get them and my son really liked them and said he's going to love them!
Great designs. You know his friends are ask him where they can get jeans like his.
Nancy
heaps of work, but a fabulous result, lovely Grandmother.
Those are great. I think you deserve a second round of hugs and Kisses. Great work Grandma.
WOW! Linda what a marvellous job you've done! Did you have to undo the seams to get your hoop on these, or did you do separate patches and hand sew them on? Great job either way. Love Chris
I did a separate patch but I did open up the sided seam to be able to get in there as the legs are so narrow!
I feel like I had an assembly line going - lol! First I opened up the one leg on each pair then took a small piece of blue jean and patched it the way I normally would (just not quite as good ad it won't be seen), then I found designs for them and embroidered them all on jean scrap I have - then pinned and sewed them in place with the decorative stitch, and then redid the seams I'd opened.
