ITH Candy Huggers from Embroidery Library

Made these for my grandchildren. They were quick and easy to make.

However, if you want to be able to put more than a quarter into the pocket, might I suggest that you don't use the die line pre-cut method illustrated in the instructions, but place an ample folded rectangle of fabric over the placement line with a wad of cotton ball underneath; re-run the placement line to tack it down. Cut away the excess fabric and continue with the applique/satin stitch. This will give you a little more room in the pocket and you will be able to stash a small chocolate heart in there as shown in the picture.

Thanks for looking

Wow! You are fast! I bought these designs too for a Valentines gifts for some precious children around me. Your stitching came out very very cute, and I can't wait to give these a try. Thank you for the tips to make the pocket a little bigger. --Sharon

You're welcome - I ran one according to the instructions that came with the designs and the pocket was really tight, making it difficult to get a piece of candy into it and the candy would fall out when you picked it up. This improvised method seems to do the trick.

I'm pretty sure an egg would fit, since there is room within the arms, just not in the pocket. I had tried a larger chocolate heart and it was tight, but it did fit.
