Hope your on the mend soon enjoy being pampered and don't try and do things yourself to soon sending hugs and kisses
I couldn't, hubby watches like a hawk! I have had lots of well wishers dropping in, so its passing the time. Hubby said I have one week down...yea!!!
oh dear, that must hurt, and such a "bad timing". Well my dear take the time to rest and to heal. Accept the help that will be offered even if you really want to try yourself. take your time; hugs, and healing prayers are coming your way.
Thank you I appreciate them too. Yes, timing from my perspective wasn't the best or maybe it was,lol..I'll let you know if we have anything edible for Christmas!-lol- No the guys are good cooks, so we'll see.
Oh my goodness. Not really what you want for the holidays. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family at this festive time of year. Take care, hugs Lynn
Toogie, you are one of the names I have come to recognize. I wish you a speedy recovery and a fantastic Christmas dinner. All blessings on you & yours.
Thank you very much! The support of all my Cutie friends is greatly appreciated. I do recognize your name but I will have to go back and check out your projects/ post, to refresh my memory. I appreciate your taking time to write me and ask blessings for us, thank you-Toogie
I just looked you up. Now Cutie girl, you gotta start showing us what you can make! I'd love to see your projects. Don't be shy and we may learn something from you. Sincerely Toogie
Wishing you a speedy recovery. I hope you do take the needed rest you will need to heal, but for some reason I think you are going to find a way to sew/embroidery things to pass the time. Take care of your self and enjoy everyone taking care of you.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
I have been playing Spider Solitare, checking emails ( boy there's a lot at Christmas ) and getting on Cute, all from my chair on my phone. I guess this will be my lifeline for a while- lol-I will behave as I still remember the pain of break. I don't want any set backs! Gonna be long enough as it is. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
So sorry to hear of your troubles.I am sure it will be hard for someone as busy as you to have to slow down. But, it'll give you an opportunity to relax. Isn't it great when our children step up to the plate. You will see what a good mother you were to teach them so well. God bless and keep you.
All I can say is I tried to raise them right, and they help others when they know a need, but it's good to see it firsthand. .. You're right about hard to slow down....thanks for the asked blessings-Toogie
Oh, Toogie! I just got on here & saw this! I have to admit I sorta cried to read how your sweet family & friends have surrounded you with love. The love you cast upon the waters is now returning to you 10 fold. Take it easy, my cutie friend, & enjoy this season of the year & we will be praying for healing fast!
You remind me of my friend Trudy. She is the friend that brought a cake and sat in the car with me, until the guys finished the ramp so I could get in the house when I got home. She held my hand and had tears in her eyes watching them! She is an only child, although it has been a long time since she was a child. She loves my family and how we are all so close.
Thanks for your healing prayers and just being a friend.-Toogie
Toogie I am so sorry. To have this happen is bad and even more bad around the holidays. I am so glad to read how many people came to your aid. I pray that it will continue during the time of recovery.
Yes, I have to catch myself not to wear hubby out. We had a lot of people in and out. I saw my floors needed tending, but wouldn't say anything. Hubby got the dust mop out today and ran it through the house. I'm glad he noticed because I didn't want to sound like a Drill Sargent always barking orders- lol
I a so sorry to hear about your fall. Please do what you are told so you don't make it any worse. Will keep you in my prayers and have a wonderful christmas, let everyone wait on you hand & foot lol. Arlene
Arlene, that is exactly why I am doing as told ! I don't want things any worse! This Christmas will be one we will remember!
I emailed you before I read all this. Yes, you are blessed-quite special when your kids can see your needs and you don't have to ask. Blessings come in all sizes and shapes. You are in my prayers my friend and hope bones heal fast--you and Carolyn [Noah] are my hero's in sewing and embroidery projects. I don't see how they are going to keep you down--You 2 ladies get so many things done and move on to the next. I am always looking forward to see what you make next [AND WHERE YOU GET THE PATTERNS] Be a good kid now and mind the doctors orders!!!!
Toogie, Please know you are in my heart and my prayers. Like me, you are blessed to have children who step right in and do whatever they can. Much love /Lillian
Lillian doesn't it make you so thankful for them! This is something priceless, to be blessed with good children. Please put me on your church prayer list! Many thanks!
those"blankety-blank" accidents happen so fast and when you least expect it and have no time for them, often when we are tired or stressed. .
So sorry to hear this has happened to you. Please take it easy and rel ish in your family's attention. I"m sure the cuties will help keep you in line with reminders not to do too much.
Take care
Yes, it doesn't hurt to keep me in check, however, I am doing what I am told.
I sit here and think what a waste of time. I could be doing.....lol
I am happy that they have all rallied around you & I understand how much of a blessing this is. I am glad that you have to rest & hope that it heals perfectly for you. ~hugs~
Oh my, what a pity! But I agree it makes you crying and you are really blessed to have your children and 'in laws to be there and help you
through misery. They give back now to you all the love and caring you did (and still do) when they were small. Only biggest misfortune to happen in Christmas time but isn't it the fest of love and family?
Get well soon and have a lovely Christmas with a "little" help of your
friendly children - Maria
Continued Blessings from family and friends. Hope you heal well and pain is naught. Sometimes we get "pushed" out of the way so Angels can earn their wings. God Bless and Merry Christmas. Remember, God works in mysterious ways.
Yes, He does! I just have to accept He also answers in His own time. I'm afraid I don't like being immobile- lol
Hello Toggie,
but I'm sorry for you just for Christmas. It is till that you have such nice helpers. I wish you good healing. Much greetings from Germany
Best Wishes for christmas and new Years.
Hello Dodi2012, thank you for all the wishes and yes, Christmas is a bad time to have to deal with this. Shopping except for foods was pretty much done. I just had to pick up little things for grand childrens' stockings . Wishing you a Merry Christmas from the USA!
oh Toogie.... I'm sorry that you have this challenge to deal with. I'll pray for your quick recovery, and for your family to gather close together and continue to take care of each other. Blessings are everywhere (even when it doesn't feel like it).... from this accident, you've been blessed to see how important you are to your family and friends. Take care, Sharon
Sharon, I have been overwhelmed with emotions this week. I have felt pain, frustration, but always love, support too, dosed with tears. Tears of joy and pain. You can say my roller coaster is in motion-lol- I am thankful I didn't break anything else. I am so blessed with support from so many. I hate to even look at the daily freebies, as I can't down load on phone and I can't get into my sewing room to that computer. It's not easy maneuvering with a leg straight out in front- lol- I'm sure it will get easier as time goes on. Thanks for your support -Toogie
Dear Toogie, I feel like I know you from your many posts. So sorry to hear about your accident. Please do as the doctor says and I pray for your speedy recovery.
That's so sweet of you to write! I hope for the same as I am use to being patient with anyone but ME-!
Yes you are! You are in good hands and I will not worry too much as long as you follow the doctor's orders. Best wishes for your first immobilized Christmas and New Year's.
Thank you Christine, I am in great hands and I intend to be good, so I can get well.
Dear Toogie, I can feel for you..that is no good. So lovely your family and friends love you so much to help out in your needy time.
It was the tibia bone my dear husband broke almost 4 years ago also.
I will not go into details of that....You take very good care of you ok.
All my love goes your way honey...hugs Kerry
Thank you Kerry. I hope your husband healed well, but sounds like he had trouble. ...My mom died from a blood clot, when she had a broken leg bone. They gave me shots in the stomach, to thin blood and prevent clots, while in hospital.
Owww! That must really be painful! But what a blessing to have family and friends who care so much about you. I know this is a busy time of year when we are trying to finish up all our little projects in time for Christmas, but this year it's your turn to sit back and LET you family and friends care for you. Wishing you all the best in your recovery -
I didn't say owww, just remember screaming "Oh God, oh God help me", at least I called on the right physician!- lol- thanks-Toogie
So sorry about your accident, dear Toogie. I'm glad that your family is helping and I wish you a speedy recovery!
Hugs, Lidia
Wow Toogie! I hope you recover quickly and I am so glad you are blessed with a wonderful family to help in your time of need!
Hi Toogie, Wishing you a speedy recovery, take care sweet lady. Let your love ones surround you and spoil you while you heal.
Merry Christmas to you.
All my Love Lorraine
Lorraine, one good thing, I won't have to get out in the cold for a while! You know I can't stand being cold. Wishing you a Merry Christmas too and hope you're right about 'speedy' recovery!
Oh dear, Toogie when you do something you do it well. You will no have no choice but to play patient instead of Wonder Woman. So glad your wonderful family has stepped up to help. Maybe you and Averie can have wheel chair races next week. Try to be a good patient.. Will keep you and your family in my thoughts. Marian
Lol- I'm afraid it wouldn't be much of a race -lol-I don't know about me being 'Wonder Woman' but I have been wondering what will become of this woman.- lol
Toogie I am so sorry to hear that this has happened to you. You are always a bundle of energy and go go go, so I know this has to be very difficult for you to sit back and lay low. I will pray that God heals your broken leg soon, and that you are not in much pain. God bless you and enjoy being pampered. You deserve it., Rest, rest, rest! Hugs, Sharon
Thanks Sharon, I have no choice but to sit back and lay low, as you say. Thank you for your prayers -Toogie
So sorry to hear this, Toogie, I hope you will heal quickly. It's heartwarming when the family work together like this to help. I wish you a wonderful if somewhat different Christmas!
You are right about this Christmas being different. The kids want to have the traditional christmas meal. I will update just how they pull this off, after Christmas- lol
Oh! my dear Toogie, have just seen this message. May your leg heal 100% and thank God for all of your wonderful family and friends. I'm thinking of and praying for you. I went to a Blue Christmas put on by my Church last night and had a quiet little cry when remembering all those a lot worse off than us. God bless and get better really soon. Love Chris
Chris, you are real proof of Christian love. Compassion and love for others, is what God teaches us and you ( and others ) have learned well. The prayers and thoughts of all my Cutie friends, my friends and family here, have moved me deeply. (My husband is running the dust mop, as I type!) I thank God for all of you. I am continuing my prayer for your healing, as well. Back pain is unbearable for anyone. Hospital did a CT Scan of my back too, as I was complaining of back pain. Said I have a lot of arthritis in it but I guess the jar of falling just makes it hurt. My back bothers me more now than the leg, so I understand your pain. I do hope you have found some sort of relief, by now. Take care-Toogie
oh! my! So sorry. Take it easy and recover as Dr. orders. if Christmas was not ready it will come next year. Bless you! Kay
Oh, I am listening to 'their' plans for cooking. I usually make everything but a corn casserole and a yam casserole. I cook my 4 pies and candies, pralines, fudge, coconut balls, etc 2 days before Christmas. The day before I cook my vegetables and boil my ham. Christmas Day I cook all my meats which include a pork roast, baked turkey, baked ham, and 2 meatloaves. ...I told my son he could just fry us a fish dinner. He said he could but they want the 'traditional Cristmas meal we always have....I will keep you posted- lol
So sorry for your painful accident. Rest and let God handle it.
I know this was in His plans and some reasons I can understand. I understand I was trying to do too much and needed to slow down. I have more patience with others than I have for myself. I need prayer for patience to heal.
Sorry to hear about your accident. Sending wishes for a complete and speedy recovery. Go ahead and let the kids take care of you for a change. Role reversal is difficult to accept but you have earned it.
I may have earned it, as you say, but I'm not appreciating this (can't walk) part of the reward!- lol- I really understand what you mean , just joking with you. I do hope as you say, I do have a SPEEDY Recovery! Thanks-Toogie
Really sorry to hear about your accident. You will be in our prayers. Glad you still have your wonderful sense of humor, also your loving family and friends. Hugs, Joyce
Oh Joyce, I have my ups and downs, but I do try to be more up. Like my husband said, what's done is done. I can't think about time like this, in weeks and months, right now. It really overwhelms me. So I have to set my mind by getting through day to day, for now. It's not easy, because I always have plans for my days, and now everything has just stopped. Thank you for all prayers- Toogie
I just can't tell you how sorry I was to learn of your accident.
Glad to hear that your family and friend are there for you, please take good care of yourself.
With every good wish for your swift recovery,
Hugs Roberta
Roberta your thoughts and wishes mean a lot to me. I really appreciate the help I'm getting and am doing my best to be a good girl, so I can have a good recovery. Thank you-Toogie
Oh, bless your heart. When God closes a door, he sometimes closes it hard! Forced vacations are not easy to deal with, but you obviously have no choice in the matter. You will just have to hold baby Nora and eat bon bons for a few days. I'm praying for you and your family. Isn't it wonderful when we find all of the years we have given and pitched in were years we were teaching our children how families work together. May you find blessings in this time.
I better stay AWAY from Bon bons or anything high calorie since I am immobile. I don't want to outgrow my chair!- lol-we have to constantly remind little Nora 'watch Grams leg!' She is so used to just climbing in my lap.-when she saw me for the first t
Time she climbed up in a chair by my bed. She had her Taggie which she took one of her wet ribbons she had sucked on, and rubbed it on my cheek saying,"It'll be alright Gram, it'll be alright" She's so sweet!-her mom said when Nora tried to do that to her one time, mom didn't want the wet/ spit one on her so she caught it and found a dry ribbon for her to use. Nora then took the one mom chose and proceeded to wet it by sucking before she rubbed it on mom- lol- she didn't understand mom didn't want the spotty one!- lol- Nora thinks Tag is good for anything! ...maybe I need one- lol
Well, Sweetie, this is rough news. When you get to the point, take all the physical therapy they will let you take. You will all certainly be in my prayers, and especially for a good, though different Christmas. Your new slogan: "Less is best." Hugs to all.
Thanks for all the prayers and I intend to follow orders to the T. Don't want any set backs.
so sorry to hear of your accident sending prayers for a speedy recovery for you and glad to know the family are all helping wishing you all a merry and safe Christmas ...linda
Dear Toogie. That is not a nice thing to happen. Please take it easy. I hope you will be able to do masses of sewing from your wheel chair. Much love and hugs. Sarah
Thank you Sarah, I hope I won't have to go that long without SEWINGor EMB something! Right now I'm trying to adjust to 'life as it is now'. I have to admit my husband had to remind me there's no going back, can't undo what's been done, and need to just take one day at time. ..have had lot of company/helpers during day, but at night I am restless, not sleeping well....I hope the next 3 months fly by :)
I am so very sorry to hear that!
Rest well and mind the doctors. If you don't -- it will be really bad...
Hugs and prayers for you
I will be a good girl, I promise. Don't want hurting to be any worse. ...thanks for hugs/ prayers
For sure we will toogie hugs and blessing hugs Carolyn
Oh Toogie - I just read this - I am so sorry!!! Please, please, do what the doctor says - you are a wonderful person and that is why you have a wonderful family. Let them take care of you!!! Bless you - you will be in my prayers! Hugs and love, Laura*
Thanks Laura, listen I will. Need this to get well. My ostoperosis doesn't help healing though. Don't want anything to hurt that bad again
Sorry for what you are going through. Hoping you heal quickly.
jolly painful, I should think, so take the drugs they offer and do as told [hard I know]. Best wishes
The pain meds make me nauseous . I try to eat a little with them but it's hard to eat in middle of night. Dr office called in something for nausea so hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day.
Boy I've heard it all now! This has got to be a first! When toogie wants to get out of cooking Christmas dinner she breaks a leg...most of us just make reservations! You and the family have so much going on right now. Santa is coming with a semi truck of bubble wrap and planning on wrapping all of you up in it! That way when ever you decide to do ANYTHING you will only bounce and roll around! Please take care all of you...prayers will go heaven ward for nothing else to befall you. hugs for all
Sounds like you have a good plan for us!-This surely will be a Christmas to remember.
Toogie, you are in my prayers for a speedy and uneventful recovery. Knowing you, you will still enjoy Christmas and everyone gets to spoil you for a change. Hope you can still do the things you like doing.
Not yet but maybe when my strength comes back. Thanks and I told my kids we ought to remember this one!
Oh no so sorry to hear this but you are so lucky to have so many people taking such good care of you. You take care of everyone now it is you... Hope you have a merry Christmas and enjoy ...
Well I'm planning on feeling better by next week, surely. I just have to adjust to change in my life, till it passes. My husband just held me steady so I could get my hair washed. This little thing helped me feel better. I always liked a tub bath/ no shower unless washing hair, but tub baths are out. ...merry Christmas to you too
So sorry to hear about your accident but am happy to know how all family members have got together to be for each other in this time of need.
Pray you and your daughter heal soon, have a merry Christmas and happy new year 2016 full of projects and lots of embroidery.
In the meantime do enjoy some free time and care from dear ones.
Hugs and prayers
If I can just keep from hurting myself further, I'll be okay. My back hurts trying to pivot/ hop on one foot to go to restroom. Thanks for hugs and prayers I appreciate both dearly
Toogie, so sorry you got hurt! I hope you have a safe Christmas and let them know how proud we are of them picking up for you!
Hugs
Diane
Oh I will Diane! They have always been good to us and each other, but it does my heart good to see them all working together to Get things done.
Toogie, so sorry to hear this news. But SO glad your family are there to tend your every need. Yes time to take a well earned rest, and DO that. Thinking of you and i hope that your recovery will be a quick one and you shall be back to full health very soon. Sandra.
Oh Toogie have a cyber hug. I am so sorry to hear what has happened t you but delighted to hear about your very helpful family. I am sure that you will soon be letting us know how you are whizzing about in your wheelchair and that its stopped you doing very little. Take care and rest, for once you need to let others help you.
My husband has been over- protective so no chance of me even trying to whiz or pop wheelies in my chair.-lol-yes, my kids are great. I took a photo this evening of my 'one arm daughter' and her dad wrapping my Christmas gifts I bought.-lol
Oh, Toogie...so very sad to hear this...so glad your family is all around you...please take care of yourself...praying for a full and speedy recovery...Hugs...
I hope so too Kim. When I told Ashley I would be well, just in time for the baby's birth, in March. She said no mom. You will be able to start bearing a little weight then:(
