Hi Cuties,

I just wanted to let you know I've had an accident. I have a left tibial fracture. Tibia is the large bone from knee to ankle.
I hung my foot on the floor hooks that strap wheelchairs on the bus. When my foot caught it threw me down on the rails that run along the floor, to adjust the hooks. Fell on my knee so the bone is broke at the top under the knee.
I know it's a heck of a way to get out of cooking Christmas dinner!
I am to put NO weight on leg for 8-10 weeks, then I don't know. So in wheelchair now and will use walker when able.
I have to say my kids have came through for us. My son, both SIL and my sons friend had me a ramp built yesterday by the time I got home from hospital. My house is on piers and I was worried how I was going to get in.
My # 1 daughter that has broken shoulder and foot had food ready for everyone when we got home and the men finished ramp. I did fuss her.
My #2 daughter rode in ambulance with me and stayed at hospital the 2 days to talk to doctors and get equipment for me at home.
I am so blest and proud of all my children for pitching in and taking care of my needs! I had to cry today. A special friend from church brought us a cake when we came home late yesterday. In fact when I got home, the guys weren't quiet finished building the ramp. I was sitting in the car watching them because they were almost through. When my friend brought the cake she sat with me in the car. Ashley sat in my car with us too, after she picked up my wheelchair. Today that same friend brought more food!
I know you all will keep me and my family in prayer and I do appreciate that. Please don't worry about me- I am Forced to take a probably much needed rest-lol

You remind me of my friend Trudy. She is the friend that brought a cake and sat in the car with me, until the guys finished the ramp so I could get in the house when I got home. She held my hand and had tears in her eyes watching them! She is an only child, although it has been a long time since she was a child. She loves my family and how we are all so close.
Thanks for your healing prayers and just being a friend.-Toogie

The prayers and thoughts of all my Cutie friends, my friends and family here, have moved me deeply. (My husband is running the dust mop, as I type!) I thank God for all of you. I am continuing my prayer for your healing, as well. Back pain is unbearable for anyone. Hospital did a CT Scan of my back too, as I was complaining of back pain. Said I have a lot of arthritis in it but I guess the jar of falling just makes it hurt. My back bothers me more now than the leg, so I understand your pain. I do hope you have found some sort of relief, by now. Take care-Toogie

Christmas Day I cook all my meats which include a pork roast, baked turkey, baked ham, and 2 meatloaves. ...I told my son he could just fry us a fish dinner. My husband has been over- protective so no chance of me even trying to whiz or pop wheelies in my chair.-lol-yes, my kids are great. I took a photo this evening of my 'one arm daughter' and her dad wrapping my Christmas gifts I bought.-lol
