This is the 1st Stitch out on "Big Boy" my new 15000 Janome

It all seems so much different to my 11000. Will take a while to get used to him. I love the Automatic needle threader. That is a dream. Now to think of something to make this this sample and then get into some serious embroidering. Hugs

Shirley, a nice simple project to fit around those doctors is to do 4 samples or 8 and use 4 to make up one side of a patchworked tote/bag. Line the bag with a small gingham, colour matching one of the the thread used. Looks fabulous!
A mutual friend did this for another Shirley (albeit one who does not machine embroider) and everyone admires it each time she uses it. The handles were made from the gingham too. Hers was all black & white.
Ever so simple, but striking to behold.
Good luck with the doctors and enjoy your play time between visits. :-)

Thanks Joyce. I am not too sure about the bulkiness of the hoops, but I guess I will get used to them Hugs

When I got my new machine I stitched out all the large designs and put them aside for later. Then when I had enough I made them into a small lap quilt and gave it to my daughter.

Wow, that looks so dainty Shirley. I hope you get to put it into something gorgeous. What about a lovely tote bag made up of such squares and then put all together. Love Chris

I vote for the serious stitching! Save the sample for when you have thought of a perfect project for the sample, as you are wanting to try the serious stitching out, so I would take the time to think of what you are really dreaming of trying out, so that you already have plans for the design, and then have some real fun! Looking forward to seeing what that project will be! Hope you go have more Fun! Pam

Thanks. Serious stitching is on the backburner for a little while as we have so many Dr Appointments etc at the moment, but am looking forward to the stitching. Hugs Shirley

Beautiful stitch out. What size is it? Maybe a start on a runner or a mug rug. Or if small a pin cushion or the front for a notebook.
