with us celebrating our Thanksgiving tomorrow (really Monday but we will have ours Sat.) I had this on my to do list (ever growing) for some time I came up with this idea that I thought you might like as well. First a bread basket, then a cover for the basket. When ever I try to warm the buns I either forget them in the oven or nuc them too long in the microwave either way they don't usually turn out very well so while I was sleeping I came up with this idea: in picture #1 & 3 you can see the hand warmers & inside these you can see the little silver circle shaped like a coin...........if you click these you are supposed to put them inside your gloves to keep your hands warm in the Fall & Winter but what if you put them in the basket under the bread & then cover the basket with the top bread cover & tuck it all inside the basket. Voila nice & toasty warm buns perfect for your holiday dinners! I tried this out & it works better then I had hoped & no more over cooked buns for us lol

we used the bread warmers (hot packs) yesterday for our thanksgiving dinner which went really well. Others mentioned using barley packs. Something similar to the rice bags. My girlfriend said after too many times the bread smelled of rice lol. I just wanted to let you know of the barley option Thank you to all ~hugs & **~

PS I cooked my turkey 24 pounds in a plastic Reynolds bag for 4 hours & 15 minutes & it was absolutely perfect. You could see the juices run. I was quite proud of myself...........

I have some of those hand warmers. I never thought to use them for this sort of thing. Very clever, and your projects are beautiful!

Wonderful! I've used small rice bags that can be heated in the bottom of bread baskets, and it works great... never thought of those hand warmers (they are not real prevalent down here in Florida), but great idea! I love your idea of the collapsible bread basket and cover over the top (vs the ones that lay in the bottom and fold over). Both pieces can be washed (yeah!), and any design that you put on the cover shows! You are so creative! Thanks for letting us see!

Great idea to use the hand warmers. Your basket and cover are wonderful! I have an old piece of tile that can be heated in the microwave and then wrapped in a napkin and placed in the bottom of my bread basket.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Neat idea. Hubby got several of these hand warmers for his gloves last Christmas. He's probably going to be asking me where they are one of these days and I can say "in the kitchen keeping the buns warm" Love the verigated thread you used here/Lillian
