Sorry posting this twice for some reason my photo didn't load up

Some of you may remember a week ago I was having trouble with my thread shredding and breaking

I found out where the problem was after a very long frustrating week, so I have posted a pic where my thread was been caught up I have highlighted with a red circle,
The thread had cut a groove in this little knob of plastic so the thread was continually been caught in it and causing the problem
You can see this knob of plastic if you remove the outer casing that covers the top tension
My husband filed the little knob of plastic completely smooth so you can't feel it now and my machine is sewing beautifully think the knob of plastic was support for the outer casing but it was so small it was not really doing anything and filing it smooth has caused no further problems doing this
Hope this helps some one else who may have the same problem
If you are remove your side outer casing that covers your top tension and watch what happens to see if it is the same problem as I had catching on this little knob of plastic

I have a Brother LB6770 and a few years back I was having a similar problem with shredding and my machine guy found a guide that was catching so he filed it off and it corrected the problem. Your "fix" was cheaper than mine if your hubby could do it.

Not sure if it is a common problem with Brother machines but worth knowing if you own a Brother machine not sure about other makes but worth looking at if you have the same problem and yes didn't cost anything I was getting to the point to ask my repairman to sort the problem out

This is on what brand of embroidery machine--I have thread shredded in the tiny spring in the tension [Baby Lock Ellisimo Gold] I've tried pipe cleaners, the flattest tweezer, little brushes that would fit in the slot. My warranty is out so might have husband break a seal if it has one just to get that danged little narrow piece of plastic off, then I could reach it and grab it. Still sewing out great so hate to fool with it yet and don't want to carry the thing to sewing shop for servicing yet. My shredding happened because I didn't have the new end of the spool of thread unwound correctly so it pulled tight and broke.

Remove the out casing and watch what happens that is what I did and I discovered the thread was getting caught on this tiny knob of plastic every time it did it my thread broke and was shredded which for some reason was happening all the time after filing it down smoothly
NO MORE TROUBLE

So glad you found the problem...so frustrating for you, too..especially having taken it in to the repair man and he didn't discover the problem and then buying a new rotary hook...but so glad you are up and sewing smoothly now!
