This is what we woke up to this morning. It has not snowed here for 35 years. It is such a beautiful sight. You can see in the 1st 2 photos it is still snowing.

Photo 1. Front of house.
Photo 2. From front veranda.
Photo 3. From the dining room window.
I just had to share these beautiful pictures with you all. Hugs Shirley

I think it was cold every where in Australia that day it snowed in Tasmania.
I am in Sydney and I had to wear my overcoat when I went out of the office at lunch time. Something, I don't normally do.
Brrr, I feel cold just thinking about it. Enjoy your snow.

Wow, I can't believe I am seeing new snow..... it's been near 100* here with heat index of up to 110* last week. I need to blow up these pictures and put them in my living room so when it's so hot I might think it's cooler.. .hehehehe Thanks for sharing your cool weather. Stay warm and enjoy.

Right now I'm visiting the Orlando, FL area and yesterday broke a 35 year record for the coldest day. August 3rd!!!!!!! And truly it was cold. Can't remember what they said it was, but sure not what you'd expect here in August. Snow is beautiful, but I can personally live without it.

Yes I agree. I too can live without it. But it was just sooo magic to wake and look out the windows to see it just for once. It will stay in my memory for the rest of my life. Hugs

Beautiful photographs. Your home is made out of the same cladding as ours is here in South Africa.

Thanks. My hubby painted it a couple of years back. He had the ladder propped up on a crate at the side and of course the ladder slipped and he fell. Only his pride was hurt. I would have taken a photo except I was talking on the phone at the time. He had paint from heard to toe.

It looks great, but it must be cold. Up here in Sydney I've been sitting under a blanket all day and it was in the 20'sC so I guess I shouldn't really complain about the cold it could be worse..

It was not so cold at first, but when the wind came up it was cold. It is very cold outside tonight. But lovely and warm inside with 2 wood heaters working. 20'sC would be just nice for me. Hugs Shirley

Thanks. There were some lovely shots of the snow at Deloraine here in the North of the State on the TV News tonight. The local school was closed for the day. The kids were playing in the school grounds making snowmen and having fun sled riding. The snow was State wide with a lot of schools closed for the day. Shirley

WOW! Shirley, these are just gorgeous. I am so pleased for you and I can see from the footprints on your pathway that you've had quite a downpour! Thanks for showing us these wonderful images. Love Chris

Yes Chris WOW! I could not believe it when Ralph said it is all white outside this morning. I thought he meant frost. It was crunchy under my feet walking down that pathway. I guess I will never see it like this again. To look out the window now in places you would never guess just how white it was. Hugs Shirley

Sorry you are having it so hot. I could not stand that heat. I would rather be in the cooler climate. We have 2 wood heaters burning today. Hugs Shirley

Dear Doris, do you live in the State of Washington up near the border between America and Canada - on the west coast? The reason I'm asking is I can't believe you have such high temperatures up that far. Love Chris

dragonflyer by dragonflyer 03 Aug 2015

Hi Chris...My sister lives in Seattle, WA ... and Yes, they have had temps very high...mid 90's up to 100 degrees F...unusual for them, but it happens...here in So. California...we have hit up to 110 degrees F...ugh! Also we are in a 4 year drought...we sure could use some rain, but my hopes are not high...

lildoll2 by lildoll2 06 Aug 2015

yes i live up close to canada, but we do have some hot weather, this year especially hot, could do without it, so if anyone wants to send me some snow , bring it on!!! stay cool, doris

Lovely when seldom seen. Now you have pictures for a future Christmas card! We get snow every 5-7 years and no more than twice in a winter, so I sort of understand how you feel. When I was a kid, we would hit the slopes with our sled and it would be all gone by 10:00 a.m. because the kids wore it out on the hills. After that it was back to building snowmen in the (flat) yard and making snowballs - and they were usually too fluffy to make good ammo.

It getting cold here now. Quite windy, and the snow is melting. Hubby is just setting out in the car to go and get the weekly groceries. Too cold for me. No snow fights or snowmen. Hugs

Yes it is wonderful. It is only the 2nd time I have seen snow. Nice to be inside where it is warm and watching from the windows. The wind is quite cold now so not so great outdoors. That seat on the veranda is covered in snow so you would not like to be sitting there. Hugs Shirley
